Forming 22br brass

Just wondering which FL die you find best for forming your 22br brass? At the moment I'm using a Forster fl die with expander ball run down Lapua 6mm BR brass, but I've been told a Redding bushing die without the expander works smoother and keeps the necks more concentric, just like to hear your methods.

Thanks

Actually Andy, I have read from multiple sources that say a standard FL die works
better than a bushing die for necking down purposes. Not sure why. I, like you
use a Forster FL die and seems to do a good job. Thought about going to a bushing
die but gun shoots so well as is I see no reason to change.

Good luck with yours, John.

I'm getting the bushing die just to size my brass after shooting. The forming is way smoother in the Redding non F/L sizer. After I smashed 3 pieces I my Forster F/L I got rid of it. The Harrell's is a good one as well.

It just seems when I'm using the Forster FL die and the expander ball is coming back out of the neck I need to put a fair amount of effort into the press handle to pull it out which I'm sure can't do a lot for concentricity. Obviously I lube both inside and outside of the neck.

I use an old Wilson FL die for them and never had an issue, they are tough to find but it's the best thing I've found.

Got my new Redding busing F/L die yesterday. I must say it is way easier to forum them now with little run out. run it up in the die w/o the bushing, step 1. In stall bushing ( I use .251 coated) and make another pass, step 2. I ran 50 pcs last night, and all of them are the easiest made so far. The Regular F/L die is some what harder, because there isn't a step in it.

Thought I'd post my findings. I'll have my old non-bushing Redding F/L die up in the classifieds soon, if some of you want it.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Even though mines a no turn neck do you think it would be worth running the necks over a neck turner just in case any donuts have formed? Some say it's worth doing or am I just creating more work for myself?

Gabe, does the bushing size the full length of the neck?

Not sure a donut will form going from 6-22BR
if you are going to seat the bullet into the donut area, maybe consider it, but you can feel them with a small pick, if they develop.
You can do more damage than good to the cases trying to remove them.
You can shoot bugholes all day with cases that have donuts, just as long as you seat out further.
