Be careful, this is apparently a 6XC celebration thread.
I have no idea why it is so highly regarded.
Probably never shot it...
And the thread was asking for which one that people liked. People answered.

6 Creedmoor, 6.5x47 case, 22GT (formed from 6 Creedmoor), 6 Dasher, and 6 BR.
All this arguing about 6XC and 6 Creedmoor when the XC literally splits the difference between the Creedmoor and the x47. Go with the one that gives you warm fuzzy feelings. Personally, I went 6.5x47.
No real offense meant - I think it's easy for people to get wrapped up in what are actually very small differences and when you have these cases in your hands, you realize it's not really worth stressing over. I don't think there is any real difference between the 6 creedmoor, the 6 XC, and the 6x47. The 6 GT seems closer to the BR family in size, to me.To a certain extent that's true. The 6xc is basically a 6x48.
I would say, I don't think I saw anyone "arguing". Just people saying nice things and approving of the 6xc and others saying snarky things in response. For some weird reason.

I've heard many GOOD Things about, the Accuracy of, the 6-47 Lapua ! ( A Close Cousin for, Sure ! )
I've also heard about and watched the development of, D Tubb's, 6 XC and read about, the 3 guys
( DeMille, Tubb and ?? I can't recall, the 3rd guy ) winning 4,.. 1,000 Championship's around, 2015 or so !
I guess that,.. I was, "Brainwashed" about, the Latest, greatest, Cartridge, THEN,.. LOL !
Now, I "hear" that, the 6 GT is,. "Better" !
I probably WON'T sell my very accurate 6 XC and build One, tho, as it,.. "Gets it Done" for, Me.
However, when my .22-250 barrel goes South,.. I Will build,.. a .22 GT,. and CHASE,.. the Latest Fad !
I agree, it’s a really nice size for anyone who wants more than a 22BR can give, or needs it to feed from a magazine without modifications.….
The 22 GT seems to be pretty darn awesome. And just about the right size.
Yup,. I'm hoping that, the .22 GT feeds "Well", in my ole'1981 model Rem., 700, Short action !I agree, it’s a really nice size for anyone who wants more than a 22BR can give, or needs it to feed from a magazine without modifications.
I don't think it is thought of as better, just more like a BR style cartridge.I've heard many GOOD Things about, the Accuracy of, the 6-47 Lapua ! ( A Close Cousin for, Sure ! )

Like Evan said,.. there's very LITTLE Difference, in most of,... the Bigger 6's !
If I were to do another 6mm anything I believe it would be a 6XC. I've been shooting 6mm Competition Match since '07, .243, and 6br. But yes the 6XC would be my choice because it has things going for it that i like.Considering doing one of the sixes. Which one did/would you choose and why??
Yup,. I'm hoping that, the .22 GT feeds "Well", in my ole'1981 model Rem., 700, Short action !
I need the .22 GT to push, the 50 grain, V-Max, Bullet at, 3,550 fps,.. Accurately !
or, better yet, the 53 V-Maxes at, 3475-3500 max fps !
That's Max speed / Bullet weight to, "control" the muzzle jump, in my 8 Pound, walking Varmint rifle and still see, the "splodies", on Sage Rats.

Can we all at least agree that we hate the ARC family of cartridges???Bahahahahaha

All this arguing about 6XC and 6 Creedmoor when the XC literally splits the difference between the Creedmoor and the x47. Go with the one that gives you warm fuzzy feelings. Personally, I went 6.5x47 because of its reputation for exceptional accuracy and longer barrel life than any six larger than a 6 BR.
You are 100% correct about the # of brass and ammo manufacturers but that doesn't mean the creedmoor is a better round. The 6.5 Creedmoor had more hype than any new round in my 60 years. A 6.5x47, 260 rem or 6.5x55 do the same thing. I do agree the Creedmoor more case design is a good one but marketing and hype is what sells...Somehow, I knew the XC. crowd would be her first. They are a dedicated bunch.
I have never owned the XC but I have extensive time behind the 6 Creedmoor. Also just began working with a 6GT.
I have to ask just how many companies make and sell brass for the XC vs. the 6 Creedmoor?
Load the 6 Creedmoor with RL16 and 105 Hybrids and it will provide all the accuracy and distance you'll likely ever need. I am on my 3rd barrel and all have made 3,100FPS accurately with the exact same load of RL16 and (OH NO!) that "crappy Hornady brass". That brass has seen 10 cycles or more hammering steel and shooting small groups.
The 6GT has promise as I have gotten to 3,050 already without stressing the Alpha brass. It is doing that with RL15.5 and the Vapor Trail 103.
Plus, I have some of the new Lapua 6GT in hand now and will be working with it soon.
The 22 GT pushes a 53vmax to 3800 in a 22” barrel. and it shoots in the .3-.4 for me. A 12T Nut barrel from brad on a kauger action in an MPA chassis. feeds well out of MDT 6 BR aics mags. Tinkertoy build.Yup,. I'm hoping that, the .22 GT feeds "Well", in my ole'1981 model Rem., 700, Short action !

That's the Max speed / Bullet weight, combo that IS, necessary to, control the "muzzle jump", in my 8 Pound, walking Varmint rifle and still be able to see, the "Splodies", on Sage Rats / PD's, & R. Chucks.
I strongly prefer how Hornady markets and pushes their cartridges to success, unlike Remington, my poster-child for superior cartridge designs hamstrung by bad market positioning and poor manufacturing support. I am still bitter about the 244/6mm Remington….You are 100% correct about the # of brass and ammo manufacturers but that doesn't mean the creedmoor is a better round.
