New Varmint Stock project

We are making my wife another varmint stock using the Revolution 3 inch benchrest stock.

She likes the green.

I put an 80 grit belt on my belt sander that I use for spinning barrels and reworked the forend.

Here it is roughed into shape. Not a bad job if I do say so myself.

Great job ! This way you get what you want without having to relay information to a builder, I had to get aggressive a use a couple rasp files on my last stock project. But I got what I wanted..

It's a Revolution benchrest stock that I sell that is made from birch plywood.

I shot it with laquer sanding sealer yesterday. It will get final sanded and then auto 2k spray can clear coat.

Purely out of curiosity, why rework the forend? Seems like the wide, flat forend would be more stable off of a tripod or portable bench.

I double dog dare ya to spray a couple coats of emerald green candy on it before clearing.
Check out Lime Line, I believe they have candy basecoat in aerosol cans.
The candy will add depth and richness to an already pretty stock yet leave the wood grain visible.

I love that your Bride gets involved (hands dirty) with the project.
