According to the ATF guys slapping parts together can use serial number already on receiver but still have to put their name on it as the final manufacture. Number 1 reason not toBut guys assemble ARs all the time as end users, I dont think its an issue.
I am trying to show folks that a short freebore 6bra will smoke a 22-250 with 10 grains less powder (ala Alex Wheeler and his good teachings), and is easier on barrels, and a short throat 6xc will smoke a 220 Swift.
Although this may very well be true, there are those who hold to "traditions" for lack of a better word.
One guys grandpa had a swift, one guy doesnt want to buy new dies, one guy has 6000 pcs of .22-250 brass he wants to use---I hear you. BUT does the potential customer??? May have to let them be "right". No disrespect intended. I am excited to see you make this work!! Marc
Not only will a 6mm Br,BRA,Dasher with a zero freebore smoke the .22s it tunes much easier in my experience as well.
Where do they have to put their name? Is there an ATF form that needs to be done? I'm talking for an individual not an FFL. Also would this apply to someone buying a T/C bare frame and adding a barrel to it?According to the ATF guys slapping parts together can use serial number already on receiver but still have to put their name on it as the final manufacture. Number 1 reason not to
take one on trade or buy unless you know the person very well.., who built it.
