Champions Choice Wide Soft Case 52 or 58 inch

I have one. I have a rifle with a 33” barrel and it fits.

A couple improvements are suggested:
- when carrying by the hand straps it is muzzle heavy. Such that the front of the case bumps the ground.
- when using the shoulder straps and walking, the top/muzzle side will hit the ceilings, hit the elevator ceiling, and prevent reasonable use of those straps when indoors.

Yes, I like it but it will be reworked for next season.

I believe it was June 3rd when I began an order for 1 of these soft cases. I had looked many places and had already returned a Plano to Amazon that, with my 47.5" rifle enclosed, weighed 42 pounds!

So, I completed the order form down to the shipping costs....which were $42. I immediately deleted everything on the order form and tried to delete my account...to no avail.

I sent Mr. Key at Champion's Choice an email stating I doubted it would cost $42 to send a 6 pound gun case from Tenn to Ohio. Of course he sent me a reply stating, "Yes, it does!"

I did find a hard case made by Savior that fit my needs from Amazon. $107 and no shipping charge.

I hear ya on the shipping: I had the same reaction when I bought both of mine. But it absolutely does cost at least $42 to ship those cases. The issue isn't the weight, it's the length: total linear inches on the box get you into the Very Expensive shipping tier. I just ran a FedEx quote for a 6 pound, 60x12x8 package, and got $90.54.



I have 2 of these cases and they're great -- they're one of the few that will take my Palma rifles fully assembled without issue. Besides that they seem to hold up, they have backpack straps, the padding is fantastic, and they have just the right number and size of pockets. It's absolutely perfect for my match rifles, but if you don't need the barrel length that shipping is hard to swallow.

Shipping is high. Mine was a 58 inch. I am running LRB'S 4 INCH , WITH A 2 INCH RUDDER. ALSO running Majestas with high rings. I don't see this case ever working as much as I wanted it to. They are very well made. If you ever get to the Cincy area I will sell mine to you for $100.00. Taking a loss. Brand new.I can't ship this, won't ship it.

I always think shipping is probably fair when I consider how much it would cost to drive to go get it and what all my wife would buy while on the trip.
