I have a Bat MB with a straight 28” barrel chambered in 6br by Bob Green. I don’t shoot it much because it’s boringly accurate. I hate to admit it but I like a good challenge. I suggest the 6br to anybody looking for an accurate cartridge.

The Longer Neck, allows you to, CHASE the Lands by moving the Bullet forward ( Without Falling out of the Case ) and It keeps, the Bullet AWAY from the dreaded, "Donut area" of, the Case Neck / Shoulder, Junction.
Also ALLOWS, more Rounds fired without, the Powder Flames "Turbulence Point" Burning Throats,.. "excessively" !

The short necked BRX will get those same speeds. I’ve never chased the lands. And it’s always held X ring F Open accuracy over many barrels. Dashers get those speeds too.

Ok Tomiboy help me understand I know very little about 6BrA but would changing the shoulder angle to 40 not shorten the neck a very small amount but no enough to matter. Not disagreeing the fact just trying to learn something

The outer shoulder is pushed forward a bit changing the shoulder angle only. Adds about a grain of powder and about 100 FPS of speed.

6BR is good but the improved is improved, higher speeds, extremely accurate with less throat wear and longer brass life.

Agree 100%. I like the 6BR but the 6BRX is my favorite.

At 1K a little extra speed is nice to have from the improved cases especially if you’re shooting heavier bullets. But whoever reads wind the best for the day still usually wins..

I still like the br...... ive never had one that wouldn't shoot, never had one finicky about the load, out of 6-7 of them thru the years they all loved 30.5g varget and 105 bergers and shot extremely well. I've also had a couple slow twist br's that would shoot right there with the best of the ppc's with 65's or 68's and 31g 8208

My 6BRX has a short neck and I have none of the problems you mentioned.
