Actually several years ago one of the shooters at Tomball did it, Eric Klementich sp. Jackie may have more info on Eric's cartridge. He passed away many years ago.

HBR had the minimum capacity, Erick decided to build a “44 BR” to shoot in HBR.
he completely straightened out the 6 BR case and then necked the portion for the bullet back down to accept a .429 Sierra Match bullet. The capacity was right on the limit.
this was a big project. He used a Panda action, a McMillan stock, Shilen barrel, in 18 twist if I remember.
He had dies made, and was using 292 and H110 powder.
everything worked great except it simply would not shoot. He tried several different .429 match bullets, but the best it would do at 100 yards was around 1 1/2 to 2 inch groups.
If I remember, he did have a 1-16 barrel chambered, and a 1-20. it did no better.
I think he declared it dead on arrival.

Shilen 1-8 27” I chambered, it has barrels in 6BRA, 7 saum and 338 edge.
XLR element with an extension I made for bipod and a long shot precision ABR on the butt stock.

So...we can say the 8mm Mauser created the Winchester bolt guns, The Remington bolt guns, and pretty much every cartridge made with a similar rim size, even now evolving into the MIGHTY CREEDMORE!?
