USPS Delivery Issues and Delays

I went to mail $50 USPS priority today, knowing if they lose it it's insured for $100.
All I smelled in the parking lot was weed. Lol
Yeah it's even coming down here in God's country last free state.im sure we are last to see all of this mess thankfully but still the ignorance is spreading.really sucks

Guys,I don't know where some of you live, where usps is still working, but in missouri it's awful. I can send a package four states away with usps, and it may take 4 days, may take 20. I send it via FedEx, its there in 3. Every time.
Ordered a scope base from MidwayUSA. Columbia, Mo. I live NE of the KC metro. It went to St Louis, South Dakota, Iowa, back to South Dakota and fell off the tracking radar.

How is that considered acceptable?
I could have walked there and back twice by now if I were so inclined.

And I just saw in my news feeds that the USPS employees are demanding a raise.

Really?!?!?!?

For what? Making continuous mistakes?

USPS priority mailed check 1-28 not here yet. Hasn't moved for 8 days according to tracking.

Mailed package to the guy and he received it in 2 days....WTF...

My Sister was postmaster at several large USPS offices. You ought to hear the stories she tells about some Union employee instances......pathetic.

Here is current tracking of a USPS package……I live in Elkin by the way. It was in town yesterday and now it’s back in Greensboro…….9 scariest words ever spoken “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

mailed a flat rate box jan 27 from denver to indy. been in transit from indy to next place for 11 days. did a search, and came back its in-route and resolved.
filed a lost package today, and a insurance claim for the $100 insurance.
did you know that you cant get your money back for shipping if they dont deliver it?? the lady said there is no guarantee of delivery. after i was on hold for 45 minutes, but she was nice. and to make a claim on the insurance, you have to show receipt of shipping, and a receipt of value of what's in the box. then cross your fingers!!!!!!!

How would an incompetent organization stay in business if they didn't make things extremely difficult and cost ineffective to file a loss claim they will simply deny later?

But a Government run agency will take perfect care of you if your sick.

Right. And I'm the King of America.

I don't gamble much at all, but when I do, I gamble on the postal service.20250211_085835.jpg20250211_093505.jpg
I'll play thier silly game.

Retired PM of 3 different Post Offices in the Southwest. Started w Pony Express (Rural carrier).

I used to ride for the brand. Can’t in good conscience anymore. Maybe the best thing going price wise still but SERVICE which I would remind my team was our last name is DEAD LAST.

I’ve not had one single transaction go as it should in my last 12 with several PM’s with members here expressing the same performance issues.

When you pay postage to mail an envelope and it never gets there, that's not the best thing going. When you pay extra to get it there faster and it doesn't get there any faster, that's not the best thing going. When you pay for insurance and you never get a penny for your claim, that's not a good thing going. The USPS is the biggest ripoff ever and they should not be allowed to stay in business! Period!
Once you get rid of the USPS, you as an individual are not shipping firearms (long guns), so to me, it sounds like the best thing going.

I have 59 feedbacks here,(that’s not ALL of my transactions) some were long guns.

Had I paid my local ffl $25 (their going rate) for each one I’d be money ahead but more than that I’d have had a lot less headaches and heartaches which at my age are worth more than money.

Some advice for those of you continuing to use USPS. If you need to file a claim it’ll likely get denied first regardless of its legitimacy. Follow up with the appeal and they take a closer look and pay out more often than not.

My 2 cents

Have you heard any large companies (UPS FEDEX) or any organization that is run by the governmental see consequences for not doing their job properly?

If there is no consequences, then this S**t will continue.

Yep. That's what you learn in the School of Hard Knocks, first and foremost.

Consequences.

True.

For more than two decades in mgmt I attempted to dole out those consequences in a progressive fashion as policy states.

Despite dotting I’s and crossing t’s endless Fact Findings, meeting with unions, mediators, arbitrators etc I was seldom successful unless I got em in the first 90 days and later in my career that even proved more difficult.

The crew, at my location, for the most part seem to be ok. Diligent and helpful. The one problem child moved on a couple years ago. I’ve interacted with a few problem children at other locations. Usually try to avoid those locations with anything overly complicated.
