USPS Delivery Issues and Delays

I sent two different Priority envelopes in the same week to OK and CO. Both were lost. The OK showed up after a week. The CO was missing for 4 weeks. I initiated a lost package claim, requesting it be returned to me, with the usual promises that as soon as it scanned somewhere it would be flagged and routed back to me. I got word from my son in CO his package arrived several days later, scanned that day in his town in CO. Three weeks later I got an email from USPS saying they were still looking for it.

I hope the guy they sent looking for it has a lunch and water cause it is gonna be a long look...

I'll tell you right now. ANYTHING that goes into Jacksonville Florida is subject to getting totally lost forever and ever. I have had stuff go to them 2 or 3 times while going from my town to my town in central Florida. Most screwed up bunch of incompetents I ever knew.
 
I had mailed a walnut stock to an address just north of Miami. It was lost for about 4 months. After about 50 phone calls, it was found in the corner of a shipping dept and they asked me what was in it before they would tell me anything. I told them it was a piece of wood. That's when they told me they had set it back because it was "leaking." They then asked me if they could unwrap it. They must not have believed me. I told them they could. I stayed on the phone & heard them unwrapping it. Finally he tells me, well it looks like a wooden rifle stock. Then he says, well, someone must have spilled something on the box. We thought it may be a caustic substance.:eek: So they rewrapped it and sent it on to it's rightful owner. :confused: Never again usps:mad:
 
UPS has a package of mine sitting two hours from me. Supposed to have been delivered yesterday. Still no movement.

I have been getting the 'sorry we haven't found your package' letter for over 4 months now. It was actually delivered 3 weeks late.
 
I’m getting nervous about a priority envelope that was mailed a week ago. The last update was 4 days ago. Any of you know how often they update their tracking?
 
Judging from the horror stories I should go buy a pocket full of lottery tickets. If my next 10 packages disappeared I would be so far ahead that I would feel guilty for complaining......lol
 
My package made it to my USPS post office, said delievered to agent. Never recieved it for a week. Went to Post Office talked to supervisor said it will be delivered tomorrpw or the following day. Never recieved it! Went about, they had no ideal where it was. I told sent about problem and have not recieved the package. He was notified my USPS tracking it was delievered. What a mess! Finally, they found it after another week. To top it off it was my wife's birthday present, (Maui Jim sunglasses, not a cheap item), arriving two weeks late. You know how that can get. I still trust the USPS, still the best deal in town. They have their days also. nilebartram
 
some packages i nget quick.next one travels the county multiple times before i get it.you pay more for stupid things .they always have a dumb excuse.lol

Jim did that rifle ever get there from Speedy?
 
The USPS and its employees don't give a rats A$$ about anyone's mail or packages. They are just stuck there until quitting time going through the motions. A few years ago I was working in a fairly large postal hub, we were changing out machinery. The people would push these overflowing carts around with letters sliding off the top. The best I could tell, if it hit the floor, it wasn't going to be picked up. It was kicked under the machinery instead. One guy came around a corner and 7-10 letters fall off. I say " hey man, you dropped some mail". He looked at me like soooo what!! And went on his way. There was lots of undelivered mail under the machines, I guess they don't make enough in wages and retirement to have to bend over and pick up what they dropped.

I'm sorry that you have those views, but if it weren't for our local postal folks going out of the way a package of mine might still be traveling the country. Yes I've had a couple problems through the years, but I shipped several thousand items with them and it has been great.
 
That was probably a bit harsh. This was a large city and major hub where I saw the mail treated so poorly.
