"new" ripoff trimmer from Hornady

If that trimmer comes with 1000 of the old 105 amax bullets, well then I’d have a backup for the Henderson

They copied it, whatever.

The question should be, how is it, that in the year 2024, are people not trimming, chamfering, and deburring in one step, with whichever tool they choose?!

If I were to have to go back to the hand crank and then chamfer and debur, I’d probably rethink my life decisions.

It was inevitable, it’s probably second rate, we’re lucky to have innovation and options.

Now if this tool were to uniform primer pockets in the same process, whoa bud, I might pony up.

Brass prep is a drag, and god bless ANYONE who helps. A Nebraska family owned company, go big red, hope we’re bowl eligible when it’s over, it’s a start.

Amen! I remember having to trim and then chamfer and then deburr. Man that made it painful! I agree that any trimmer coming out now should do all three.

How do we know that they faked the velocity on 7mmPRC again? I missed it. As far as the jab goes every business was crushed into a bad place trying to do what was right, sometimes required by their Insurance carriers, contractual agreements etc. The Chicoms and Dem border"policy" are the main culprits as they are with killing over 100 thousand military age Americans w fentanyl every 2 years.
They stated they changed the powder and didn’t change their packaging but only after guys were complaining about it online.

I don’t think there is any insurance carrier in the nation with the power to force an employer to require their employees take a non-FDA approved experimental treatment.

Not being intimately familiar with either unit, do they differ in the datum surface used for controlling length? I thought the Henderson used the case shoulder. It appears the Hornady uses the case end face.
Henderson uses the base as well. I'd like to think Hornady is paying Henderson a royalty - as that does appear to be too close of a design to call their own in my eyes. I do like the looks of the machine, though.

I think a lot of us are pretty particular about our chamfer and debuting process, I think it would be hard to jump on this bandwagon of doing everything in one process.

what do you use? i have the henderson (if you haven't realized that by now) and i can't imagine a more perfect trim (same with giraud). you can set the blades to whatever degree of chamfer/deburr you want, and my lengths never vary by more than 1/2 thou.

only issue you would ever run into the henderson is trying to trim virgin brass that is pretty tight, you'll make pretty good contact with the pilot and gall the insides of the necks.

i run around 2/3 thou interference fit and never have an issue. if you wanted to run more you would need to polish down the pilot a few thou to avoid galling.

I use a Wilson micrometer trimmer. I put brass in one of the Sinclair holders chucked in a Dewalt Gyro screwdriver, and then push them into a vise mounted block that holds the chamfer tools. I wear magnifiers when doing this for better control. I’m a dinosaur I know.

if you ever wanna try my henderson let me know, i dont do any shooting over the winter. just pay the return shipping

For those that think the price for one by of these 3-1 machines is cost prohibitive, it depends on how you look at it. I’ve already fried one Dewalt Gyroscope screw drive at $90 something a pop, plus add the cost of a good trimmer and the chamfer tools.

Not to pick this scab but I received a response from Hornady customer service on my question about if they copied the Henderson:

Our trimmer is simply our trimmer. It’s not a “copy” of anything. It’s the most advanced 3-in-1 trimmer on the market. Did we look at a lot of other trimmers - of course. We should assume Henderson reviewed other designs before making theirs. Chevrolet makes cars with 4 wheels. So does Ford and Dodge. Are the vehicles the same? Theirs is red - Ours is red - Hornady has been red since 1949. Aside from that, we have numerous unique features on our trimmer (motor is faster, not a belt drive / click adjust for fine tuning etc. etc.) Designed and assembled in the USA at Hornady.

Ask Mr. Henderson just what % of his parts are actual made in USA.
I don't believe the is an "American Made" car or truck coming off any assembly line today.
Surprisingly, the Toyota Tundra may be even closer to that moniker than the F-150.
Engine produced from American made parts in Alabama and body parts made and assembled in Texas.
Our smokeless powder has American labels but most is from off shore.
It's even hard to find an American Flag with the Made in USA tag on it; and when you do the cotton and fabric probably came from Egypt.
Just examples of what we live in today . It is a global economy, like it or not.
