Its offical I'm a RSO

We can only stop the foolishness not kick out the fools, that job belongs to the board and all we do is submit info and names if we can get them. Cameras coming soon should put a stop to the BS.
Cameras are an ABSOLUTE MUST in my opinion.
Our cameras are recording during all open range hours and set for motion at night.
Cameras are the only way to "convince" someone that they did something wrong that rose to the need for some action.
We track baffle strikes and provide the video evidence, if requested, when fines are levied.

Lefty....what range do you belong to?
Is your range open to the public?
I have been the President of our Club/Range for the last 7 years.

BTW...congratulations on the RSO status.

Everything I read above about having to tresspass guys off and needing cameras is why I don't go to public ranges or even gun clubs anymore. I can shoot in my backyard but your hard pressed to get invited out here unless I know you. Too many morons.

Those that are allowed out here are very safe. We run a hot range, must safer than a cold range, IMHO.

My original post was in 2020 and now I am the president of our club. No it's a private club but we have the cheapest dues and 300 yards available plus a 21ft/50ft indoor range. It's Old Trails rifle and pistol club based in Richmond Indiana.

Might be a good idea to provide the RSO's some form of
visible evidence as to their position-----as opposed to being
some over-zealous member.

We saw this at one range when RSO's were supplied
with a vest to identify them. This identification also seemed
to make the range run more smoothly after the RSO's quickly were
identified as "Go To" guys for normal range operation.

How is it determined when it is safe for anyone to be downrange of the firing line on a “hot” versus “cold” range?

A few weeks before deer hunting season can be a little crazy when the folks who haven’t touched their guns since last year come out in droves!

Cease fire is called, everything is cleared, go down range. When back up range, everything is assumed to be loaded at all times.

How is this different from a “cold” range once the line is declared “hot”?
