300 Norma Improved 35 degree

So I started cleaning my barrel and I decided hey I haven't measured my necks in fired case for awhile. I'm getting for most cases .3405 and putting a bullet in a fired cases I have to really twist and push down. So maybe I do have a carbon ring or a very tight neck.

Never had a carbon ring so I wrapped a patch around my nylon brush put a ton of carbon remover on it and shoved it into neck area to let sit over night.

Are you sure the reamer is what its suppose to be? Maybe some measurements are in order.

That's about where you'll top out on speed with N570 pushing the 245gr. I was hitting just shy of 3000 fps in a 26" barrel with 245s and N570.

To be honest, I personally don't see the point in running the 245gr in the NMI. The 245 has a lot more recoil, muzzle blast and offers no real ballistic advantage under 2000 yards when compared to the 220gr and 230gr being pushed roughly 200 fps faster from the muzzle.

I put my other barrel on that is throated for the berger 245s oal is 3.750. 30 inch bartlein n565 I know it's slow but been shooting lights out. The few bullets that are off a little are mostly from me. Adjusting to the recoil of the 245s vs 220s in a supressor was different and the barrel isn't as heavy. Good news is I finally figured out my issue. Embarrassing but it was a sizing issue because my so called .02 shoulder bump wasn't .02. My SAC headspace tool doesn't go down to shoulder and was throwing my numbers off. I thought I did Alex Wheeler method but I guess I didn't and messed that up. So my brass number at 2.0445 has a slight drag tap with finger to close easy with plunger out of bolt. I sized it to 2.044 and it closed on its self from there I took .02 off and got my true shoulder bump and have tested it with good results. I wasn't getting any shoulder bump so the brass had nowhere to grow. It was a foolish mistake but learned a lot with these tools DONT TRUST them do it Alex way and it's fool proof. I thank for all the advice. @Ledd Slinger you asked if I used the method and thought I did but I messed up thank you for info and advice.

I think someone else mentioned using Alex's method so i cant take that credit ;) Glad you got that part figured out tho! Still doesn't resolve the lack of speed. Would love to see what those barrels will do with some N570 or H50bmg

I agree for now I'm prolly going to run this load for the match then I'm gonna do more experiments with powder. But fighting all this and time components ect. I'm content for now. The load is very impressive for match setting but I have my eye on n568 and n570 for sure.

Yeah I should be way faster I didn't push it once I fixed the issue I shot this load and it just stopped. Maybe little break is needed I've been at it for a bit trying to fix this.

245LR
93gr N570

Destroying targets 24x24 at 2600 yards. Absolutely dominating. 245 being push that fast BC goes up even higher, not looking back at my 33XC this thing is laser!
That’s impressive! Close to the charge weight where N570 shoots really good with the 220 and 230 as well

Does anyone have a Go-Gauge for Alex's publicly released reamer print that I can rent or buy? JGS has a reamer ready for me, but the corresponding Go-Gauge is 3 months out. Thanks for your consideration.

Long shot, I know. But I'll ask one last time. Does anyone have a go-gauge that I can rent or buy? Happy to pay shipping both ways, and overpay as well.

Thanks,

/Steve
