Does anyone know the length of the .224 62 grain ELD-VT? The video from Hornady explains them as long. I’m wondering if they use the 75ELD form with a shorter lead core. I hope not.

Bad news - apparently it doesn't work in an AR mag.I don’t think those would work at 2.25 in an AR.

I didn’t measure it but here is a 62 ELD next to a 75 Berger
Also loaded in a 22-250ai case at 2.60 coal
My rifle is not an AR, but the chamber isn't custom in any way either. Standard 223AI chamber from McGowen. I was actually surprised in how far back on the bullet the ogive is on the VT. It's not shockingly different than the 53gr VMAX I was using in this gun. I simply set the jump to the same as the 53gr VMAX, the extra bullet in the case was not dramatic. But I'm not mag restricted in OAL.Hornady podcast indicated the 62 gr was not suitable for 223 rem. Mentioned something to the effect of the ARC chamberings being gtg for any weights in the cal, but these VTs are not exactly backwards compatible for all chamberings in the cal. Freebore differences.
