I return to....can you point me to one example of someone getting these to shoot tight in a 1:8? I'm happy to be proven wrong with actual data.

You're not referring to custom bullet tight, are you?
I'm also curious to how an 8 twist shoots them.
I have 2 - 8tw barrels that have enough freebore to try them in.
But I'll let others do that.
I think it's too early to tell.

Terminal RPM of 325k is at 3050 fps with a 7 twist.

So, if you're saying they are designed to be shot above terminal RPM, we got a problem.

Terminal RPM with an 8 twist is 3500 fps. 3350 is very close to terminal RPM and well above optimal RPM.

See, you can't have a bullet design that shoots above terminal RPM. That's a non starter. I'm pretty sure the fellers there at Hornady were saying you need a 7 twist below 3000 fps.

Got out and shot the 80r VT in my 6mm arc. 20" proof barrel plus one gas.
2915 fps at 54 degrees
Using leverevolution powder
New 6mm arc starline brass
Cci 450 primers

I get 2920 with my 22” 6ARC and 80 gr Sierra Blitz. 28.3 grs H4895. That 80 V/T caught my eye based on add’l BC. 7.5 twist in my rifle

Hornady does not state a twist rate of 7 twist is required for the 62 eld VT 22 arc ammo. They don't actually state anything.
