Fed-ex debacle

So i bought a barrel off a member here. He shipped it right away. I get a text saying its delivered so i go to my porch to grab it- not there. I look at the app it shows a delivery picture- not my house nor any i recognize. I put in a missing pkg claim, get an email saying they will contact me. Next day i get an email saying case closed, it was delivered and we have a picture. No way to respond with any comments. So i put in another claim. Next day exact same thing. So i guess if they deliver it theres nothing you can do if they have a picture of a random garage. Now im out a barrel and my money.

I've had the same crap pulled by the USPS, a couple of times. Their system shows it was there, the system got updated soon after the time the carrier came to deliver things ... yet, no package. No proof by me it wasn't delivered, and all the "cards" stacked in their favor. Case closed. And I'm out the money and the goods they failed to deliver (swiped, whatever).

Gotta love such a system. It's almost foolproof. Until matching up with surveillance cams showing failure/lies, or showing a "porch pirate" doing his thang.

They are far removed from watching my security footage or pictures of my garage

Have the same problem with FEDEX here in Colorado. Contract drivers. Get the delivery hubs address and the Managers name. Go file a claim with your local small claims court, Name the hub and Manager in your claim. Also make sure you have the emails for filing a claim with FEDEX, Fedex will either find your package or pay the original claim!

Around here USPS is the best (not saying much though) UPS is second best, and then there's FedEx.

I would not try shipping a brick back to myself using FedEx. They couldn't find you after picking it up from the same place it's going to. Then if they do find you they would've broken my brick. If I HAVE to ship FedEx.......I just won't do the deal. Period. Just not worth it.

Just had an incident with UPS. Paid and printed my label and took it to a drop point for pick up. A local CVS.....clerk leans it in the corner with all the other packages. 2 or 3 days later, it's not moving through the system. Make a run to CVS just to find my package still setting in the same corner. Got into an argument with that clerk and finally got my package. Went home, printed out another label using USPS this time. Dropped it off, and tracking wasn't working for about 24 hours.

That FLUSHING SOUND you hear is our country going down the tubes.

Right now, I think it's about employees more than anything. Everyone wants a check but no one wants to do the actual work to earn it. When they do work (a little bit) it's all half assed. Once the boomers are gone, this country dies.

I got a text from Fedex that a package was delivered to my door....nope. it was a $700 tablet so I was in the driveway working on my 4runner waiting for it as it had a signature required. I have had this happen before and the package showed up an hour or 2 later but his was a high dollar item so I got on their site right away. Chat was no help, eventually got a woman on the phone who took all the info then she asked questions like what color is your house, how long is your driveway, do you have any trees, are there any distinguishing features on your house ? I tell her it is a tract house and the distinguishing feature is the address painted on the curb and on the house, otherwise they all look the same. I realize I am wasting my time, get an "investigation" started and someone will be contacting me. Package shows up 2 days later, no text, no knock, no signature, never got a call, email or anything. Have had much better luck with UPS.

It seems we are living in an age where there is a "customer be damned attitude".

I won't go into details here but in the last two years I've seen a significant decline in customer service and quality of products that use to be reliable.
no matter which carrier i always request a signature required on packages i ship or recieve

At the LGS last summer. FedEx driver shows up with some guns in factory boxes. One of the packages had the barrel hanging out one end. Another package was damaged but I'm not sure to what extent. I left as the guy who was waiting for the gun to show up was having a discussion with the driver.

I've done that too.............and then get a scribble signature that can't be read. And it wasn't who was supposed to receive it.

All they care about is, it was signed for. Your screwed.

I don't have anything I want shipped to the house when I am not there. But, what I do doesn't matter concerning what happened to you Dusty.

I have had success writing letters to someone higher up in the food chain, like CEO or board members. Scroll down the page below and there are addresses and email address. Skip right to the top and send a concise registered letter to one or more outlining your experience. And be sure to mention that you have held back from posting on Facebook or Twitter until the matter is satisfactorily concluded, but will once the matter is addressed by FedEx. You may get nothing or you may get action.

FedEx Elliott Report

How can a mail person deliver this and not know it’s damaged?
Better yet, how did the person that shipped anything in that package think that it was not going to come open or going to get damaged? The post office has some pretty flimsy packaging nowadays. It would behoove one to double box and add plenty of tape!

Fed ex in my town will always leave a delivery notice on the tracking, but no package....but it shows up the next day. The days it doesn't show up, it ends up at a house 1/2 mile away. This is more often than not. When they bring it on day 2, it'll have a Google earth pic on my package.

Upsis batting 99%. Usps 100%

I use a local private shipper when I need special packing service. I was stationed with the owner in AK and know he treats stuff as I would. Have a vintage Pioneer audio system I put together while stationed in Japan from '79 - '83, some of which have needed to be refurbished. My cassette decks haven't worked for several years and just recently found a highly respected restorer in FL with whom I made arrangements to have them restored. I kept all the original boxes until we returned home after my retirement then got rid of them since I will not move again.

Sort of regretted that decision now that I need to ship my decks from eastern WA to SE FL, but, the guy I know with the packing/shipping business gets the nod. We chatted for about 15mins when I went to drop them off then he had to leave to make a bank deposit. He instructed the young gal behind the counter how to measure and write up the order.

Working through the shipping info she asked what they were, "cassette decks", she looked at the computer screen then asked me, "how do you spell cassette?" "C-A-S-S-E-T-T-E".

I get home, reviewed the receipt, and found this for the description "cassette desks", no kidding. Imagine her as a delivery driver because they are out there.

I'm getting to where I will not use or order from any site that uses FedEx for deliveries. Had nothing but problems with them as my packages are touring the countryside!

LCazador; It doesn’t show well in the picture but that package was fully taped at the joints. Someone fully intended to break into that box the recipient told me it looked as though it had been cut. How was it dragged across concrete and why?

Thats exactly what im going thru but no barrel yet

Its mind boggling the number of posts I read like this across all forums I belong to. I ordered a Trjicon Ten mile scope from Europtics. GREAT customer service. Shipped quick and accurate. Phase one complete.

We paid extra for insurance, which requires an adult signature. I was off the day it was slated to arrive. UPS was the culprit for this one. I have a ring doorbell camera. Around 1-3 pm is usually when we see UPS. 1:30 my ring doorbell goes off. Hit the app up and see the UPS guy putting the package on the porch, ringing the doorbell and heading back to the truck. I catch him and ask why I was not signing for my package. He just gave me a stupid look. I laughed and said we both know why because you don't want to take five minutes to wait for me to come to the door. I told him next time it happened I will be suing UPS for forging my signature to the paper work.

All of the delivery services we have available here suck. They are too lazy to do their job. I have had this happen with the signature too many times to count.

I sure hope you get it straightened out.
