Assault Weapon Ban?

It was last minute efforts to damage all they could before the new house takes office. They will stop at nothing and will never quit. While it's an admirable trait it requires a sober resolved citizenry to stop it with the only peaceful means at their desposal; their vote.
Wish I had the confidence you and so many others have in that "peaceful
process".
Since the Bush "hanging chad" days, the invention of the "Dominion electronic
remotely programable voting machines", the latest Pennsylvania and Arizona
election fiascos, and the number of absolutely ridiculous measures and candidates
that have become law or in office is simply beyond comprehension to my mind.

Probably the owners of present Sporting Rifles will be able to keep them-grandfathered
But no new productions of said arms
They might request/demand the rifle be registered in a state database , but based on NY experience very few register them under the SAFE act.
Now in my county of NY you must get a permit from PD to purchase any semiautomatic rifle. This is even if you have a handgun permit for target or hunting.

From what I be seen they’re calling a semi -auto ban.
Some semi-auto guns.
Not all, only with evil features.
Part of bill ruger's bootlicking legacy is the mini-14 never gets banned.
Only semi-autos, no manual actions bammed regardless of features.
No rimfires banned.

Alabama County Commissioner charged with ballot stuffing voting machines.

Not the first time, probably won't be the last.

Former Rensselaer County Commissioner Jason T. Schofield just pleaded guilty to 12 counts of voter fraud charges in U.S. District Court on Wednesday, admitting he fraudulently filed absentee ballots in 2021 using the personal information of at least eight voters without their permission.

Well ............... they've gotten away with it here in NY. We've had an "assault weapons" ban for quite some time. Naturally, several manufacturers try to make firearms that work around all the evil features, but the rifles are complete abortions.

We have a grandfather clause here like Illinois. Any AW that you owned when the law went into effect had to be registered with the NYS Police. It cannot be transferred to anyone within the state and you cannot buy any additional AWs.

My standard answer to all things “Assault Ban”

There are well over 10 million AR 15 semi-automatic rifles owned ,and used ,by the citizens of the United States .Because of the riots ,and the calls to defund the police ,no one can truly know what the actual number is.The low recoil and caliber interchangeablity is one of the most popular features of the AR platform ,as it reconfigures the weapon for different applications such as ,big game hunting , small game hunting, self defense and target shooting .It is the number one rifle that is in common use today. The"common use" factor is what gives the AR15 Second Amendment protection. (Scalia ,DC vs Heller). The semi automatic rifle was invented in 1885 .Semi automatics have been in “common use “for 85 years. The Anti-second ammendment forces call the AR15 an “assault weapon”,a name given it by a corrupt media. The AR15 is just another semi-automatic rifle, and will be adjudicated as such ,should a case reach the US Supreme Court.
According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation the figure is closer to 20 million.

I'm NOT supporting the unsafe act but I find my ny compliant rifles quite acceptable to shoot.
I know exactly one guy who registered but I've seen dozens at the club shooting featureless or fixed mag.

They can update it anytime they wish and none of the disguised “featureless” guns will be allowed either. You got almost 12mo to register them so they can come get them later

Court filings should be appearing next week over the Ill law..over 60 % of county Sherifs have, in writing, stated they Will Not enforce the new gun ban. 2nd AMENDMENT VIOLATION

Not this time “(xix) Sturm, Ruger & Co. Mini-14 Tactical Rifle M–14/20CF.

I don't find breaking the rifle open to stick 5 rounds in and have to use that god awful butt stock on a compliant AR, nor the short barreled M1A's... they killed Service Rifle Matches.

I don't know anyone that Registered anything since the Safe Act but know a bunch that sold anything AR to not get hassled.

If nothing else, this whole unconstitutional mess of so-called laws hangs a big felony yoke around people's necks, if ever they get caught violating the terms of them.

Which, of course, is the whole point. Threaten to make everyone a criminal, trot out what examples they can via harsh handling and punishments, such that the remainder can be controlled. Tyrannical "social" re-engineering at its finest.
