Borden Actions

I've been reading many of fellow member posts...for some time now. There are some in this industry whose names continually come up. When I say "some", I mean more than one, two or sometimes 3 names are the pinnacle for what I would consider "their" product. Barrels I hear Barltein, Brux and Krieger. Stocks mainly McMillan & Cerus. Scopes often are Night force, Sightron and March. There are many other competition worthy products but you get the point. Of course when were looking for actions; Borden, Bat and Kelbly's are commonly ranked as high quality with attention to detail. I've decided to look into Borden for an F class build. It just so happens I'm within reasonable driving distance from their facility...just 3 hrs down the road :). I'm very much interested in their actions but I'm looking at this as an opportunity to meet what I would consider somewhat of a legend in our community. My question is: If you had my opportunity, what would you ask him? Maybe some good questions I can ask about his actions and I'm sure Mr. Borden has a lot of knowledge to share regarding the sport in general. I certainly don't want to waste his time and this isn't an interview but I would also like to use my time wisely. If there is a good point in our conversation to get clear answers I'll post them here. Thanks in advance.

Most on here know jim. Have you made an appointment for a drop in visit and interview? Hes a very busy man.
Yes, I spoke with his wife Joan and set it up. Nice folks. She put the phone down and ran out to the shop to ask him while he was on the cnc. Told me a lot about them just from a simple call

Jim has always been available and in general just a nice guy that really appreciates your business. No questions for ya but don’t hesitate to buy a Borden, as you said…one of the finest actions out there.

The BAT and Kelbly guys I’ve had the same experience with. Lots of good folks in the action industry.

Ask him how he get them so smooth/effortless on bolt motion of extraction and loading.
CLP
To my surprise he didn't speak of tolerances, he said "hardness and trueness". Actions are 39-41stainless steel and bolts are 42-44 chrome moly steel. Everyone else's are mid thirty's for ease of machining. I did not verify that statement but that's what he said. He explained that steel gets "sticky" when it's softer hence the harder steel runs smooth. Of course, timing the action properly leaves less effort as well.
