New truck time- looking for a raptor.

Think you'll like it, my wife has been driving one since new. I've never drove a raptor but the ride and handling on the ram limited on 22" rubber is unmatched IMO
The limited trim is very nice.
Hers is a 2019 with low 40k miles, never been hooked to a trailer and I'm pretty sure a recliner is the heaviest thing that's ever been in the bed.

Ram is hooked up and ready to haul a Chevy in for a new oil pump tomorrow morning. So nice GM decided to have the main crank drive the pump on the LS engines so it takes an act of God to change it out when it fails.

What kind of idiot comes up with this crap?? Engines have been around for over a hundred years and now engineers are saying " how can we screw this up, hold my beer"!
 
My friend runs a drywall business and has taken to the F150 with the eco V6, he hauls small loads but runs a lot of miles. They haven't had a dip stick to check transmition fluid in 5 or 6 years. When he asked on the first truck they told him take it to the dealer and they will check the computer.

That's what this world is coming to. Let the computer do it : ( I know a couple guys running the twin turbo 3.5's (not so eco) and all of them complain about the bad average fuel mileage. As bad as 14 MPG. Thats horrible for something made in 2020's.
 
When an LS motor needs an oil pump it is most likely due to a failure of an O ring. the old chevy engines had a steel tube permanently attached to the oil pump the LS motors have an oil pick up in the front and have a long tube to get to it and where it attaches to the pump there is an O ring that fails. Mine was leaking oil at the main seal and I took it to a guy to fix it. Laike said before trans has to come out. So new O ring on the pump new main seal on crank, new gasket on pan new seal and filter in trans, new valve cover gaskets. It was pricey but it doesn;t leak.

No it’s a sticking overpressure bypass valve on the pump because it can run with good oil pressure sometimes. Kind of a flip a coin if it works or not but now it’s worse with the colder weather because cold oil creates even more pressure causing the bypass valve to open and stick. If it had a bad o ring then it would always have low or no pressure. But either way, the whole design is a joke.

Will be putting an aftermarket high flow pump in. A dry sump is the true cure to the poor LS design but that’s about $2.5k-$3k just for the parts then I’d have to install it on top of that.

Oh yeah, she’s a runner for sure if the transmission isn’t acting up or exhaust isn’t leaking causing lean fuel delivery, or now the oil pump failing to deliver good pressure.

At least it’s not as bad as the Fords of the same era when the cam shaft position sensor went out the computer told the oil pump to stop picking up with no warning or engine lights. Seen a lot of completely seized Ford engines due to that little flaw.

This ^^ just happened to my father in laws 2013' F150 about two months ago. He even said that exact same thing, that it never threw an idiot light or anything. Puked out on him while on the highway. He WAS a die hard Ford guy all his life but after this remanned engine swap, he said he'll never buy another. He is among one of the guys that I know that aslo had spark plugs blow out on his last truck which had the Triton 5.4 liter..
 
GM is pulling off Twitter because they are a competitor to Tesla and can not send money to a competitor. they lost me due to the no rear wheel well, and all the other cheap junk they do.

Mine is a 2019 and I have a dipstick, Just maybe the guy checking for the oil is a dipstick?
