It can kill anything in North America, but you may one time wish you could run faster.I love the 30-06 as it can kill almost anything in North America.

It's being sold at the very link you posted, along with all his other books. I notice he's an M.D..Had that book on my Christmas list as a kid, back when Cabela's print catalog showed various hunting books. Never did get it, no idea of it's still in print
Heck, that was taken with my old Samsung G3 smartphone! The key is ambient light, and post-processing the digital photo; I use Irfanview, a free download on my PC.That is a beautiful rifle. We have some fine photographers "shooting" here.
It's my favorite!.308 Mauser is an excellent deer rifle
Yup, it certainly is. Sorry I ever sold it . All mine were pre 64 . Or very close to it . The .243 - 88 was kinda rare too !Hey Joe, That 100 in .284 is kinda a rare bird. Ive got one in .284 pre 64 and a 88 pre 64. Used to shoot that 100 but decided I dont want to screw up an old classic. So it dont get oughta the safe anymore. The clips are too short but they are from another time. Doug
and I too, have an FN Mauser in a .270. What a fine piece . I put a Timney on it which I enjoyed . I still have a one piece FN scope Mount I have no use for ....( if someone else does)My dad moved us to Alaska in 1963 so he could hunt. I went with him starting at age 10. He took a 06 Springfield and cut it down to fit me. No recoil pad so it kicked some. At age 12 I got tangled up with a brownie so he got me a model 600 350 mag. Now that thing kicked the snot out of you and still does to this day. Later on he built both of us Whelens. Over the years they have killed a bunch of bears, moose and caribous. No longer have an 06 but will always have a Whelen. Last 30 years of his life dad owned a gun shop so I could have hunted with anything I wanted but the FN Mauser in 35 Whelen has been on every hunt but one.
"Can't we all just get along?" ;-)I prefer the “old” cartridges. Can’t get into the 6.5 creed and PRC craze. No offense to anyone who enjoys them. You like football, I like baseball but we both like sports. That kinda thing.
Love it! Reminds me of the first time I shot a 300Win Mag without a brake! Of course, when you are at the range and a guy with a "big" rifle asks if you want to shoot it...My shoulder hurts.
I did shoot a WIN Featherweight in .270. Damn, that was a true punisher.Think that hurt? Try it with a Pre-64 Featherweight in 30-06, no butt pad. (My dear old dad's bequest. He won it in a raffle, courtesy Lolo Sporting Goods, Lewiston, Idaho.)
