Thanks. It was an experiment in doing a Mannlicher. I wish I had made it for something nicer than a Howa mini.

Yours is almost ready to be shipped. I forgot to put my “signature”, so I just did that. It’s a Silver Liberty quarter. A few more coats of oil and I’ll put it in the mail.

Thanks Al. I use Arrowood. I was given the tip about it from Preacher. It’s all I use.

that is some fabulous wood. You guys are over my head with all this stuff. I think sanding and some arrow or other oil is about it for me. When Im in a hurry I have used some polyethylene and its turned out okay. seals the wood and its easy to fix to.

Bah! Ya just have to go slow and steady. Practice helps, too!

Wat—- i dont think there are any screwups on it!!!

I can take some pics and explain it. I just want to say that I still screw up. Most screw ups can be fixed. I haven’t lost a blank……..yet.

full disclosure, i had to go to my neighbors "shop" for this project and this about all I/we will get done, i will ship this off to jesse next, ordered the wood from curlymaplewood.com and laminate from cwp-usa.com for about $250 dlvd total...my maple piece is 10" tall and next time i will get 12-14 or a longer board that is skinnier, this one was 1" 13/16, plenty good and wide for (bench or f class) the fore end, buit a bit much for the rear....but this was fun and i realy enjoy trying to stain the wood and clear coating it, going to give it 24 hours in the clamps

dymalux cocobolo, two .250 panels....hit it with 60 grit to have glue stick better, it came somewhat finished/cleared on top

No such thing as a screw up theres always body filler and paint. Thats were Brett comes into it lol
