I hope you break the one inch barrier Tom. You certainly deserve to with all the work you put into it. At least Montana has good weather for testing!

Mayne unless your talking heavy gun glued in a block. That pretty much takes alot of the action out of the picture. MattIf we are talking about harmonics, doesn’t the bedding material and also the stock infill play into the equation.
What are buttets, is that what holds your pants up? MattUltimately the vibrations are transferred to many different materials. I believe that load development, quality gunsmiths, exceptional buttets and the grace of Mother Nature are far more revenant.

Stillers version of a Panda. MattViper?

What is the fan for? I know it isn't that much hotter up there than Butte is LOL.
And are you testing firing pins?
Nuevos do feel a little different at first. But if you give them some time you will like them. They just feel different. But the design does contribute to accuracy in my opinion.
Your concluding remark suggests that there is no perfect action, even in the mind.Everyone shoots for different reasons. Some are just there for fun and are happy to just not come in last. Some are there to win, others are after records, ext. My interest is in building a better rifle. I have worked on every aspect of these things for years trying to get the most out of every component. Actions, triggers, scopes, stocks, barrel specs, my own techniques in the build process, ext. Its been a worth while pursuit. The rifles track records are the proof. This is just one more of those things, I hope it improves the agg records.
A good action is a good action. What makes one good is actually pretty basic stuff. I have built exceptional rifles on a few different manufactures. If they are right they will shoot. I doubt I will ever be 100% satisfied with anything.
