6BRA for 300m Comp. – F Class Style

Am after some recommendations for a new rifle in 6BRA for 300m competition. We shoot a little of it here in New Zealand in local and national competitions; we have a FClass division which is a lot of fun, and you can learn a lot from shooting 60 scoring shots in the wind over a 1 hr period (usually less!); is like 6 10shot FClass matches in a row! I have most of what I need to start with; reamer(#1323), Alpha brass on order, and a supply of H4895 (ADI2206H) & Varget (ADI2208).

I will likely go with a 1.25 inch bull barrel and have it finished at 28 or 30 inches. Am keen to get a recommendation of what would be a good bullet and twist combination.

Thanks for your help.

so0rry but with that many shots in a short time there is no need for a bra nor 100 anything.
go with a straight 6mmbr and bullets in the 75 to 90 gr range.
less powder lighter bullet less heat, consistent longer
My thoughts exactly. Std 6BR with either 87-88 or 95gn bullets

While not F-Class, I shoot a 310-ish yard score match pretty regularly. It's discrete shots at different targets, not running them in a condition. Sure, you can do it with a straight 6BR, but I don't think it's inherently more accurate than a BRA and you'll definitely leave some velocity potential on the table. So why? The guys that win with 6mms are shooting either 6BR, 6BRA, or Dashers with 7.5-8twist barrels and 105 class bullets. The other favorite is the 6.5x47. It's tough to win with a PPC, a slow twist 6BR variant, or a 30BR even if they're potentially more accurate in ideal conditions.

I think Bart Sauter won the Tack Driver with a BRA and a 105 class pill. I suspect if he thought there was a better tool for the job, he'd use it.

30.3 grains of H4895 and just about any bullet from 103-108 will be an extremely good starting point! I personally love the Berger LRBT 108's over anything I have shot from this little cartridge. 28 or 30" I have had fantastic results from both. I'm in Texas so super hot high hummidity so I opted my last barrel to a 30" to see if I could run a little less powder but it still ended up at 30.3. the lots will vary, but something in that range will do you very well.
