308 Ballistic Advantage Premium Series AR308 barrel. Gas port collecting gold nugget as pictured. Other than letting a patch soak on it with copper remover all the time, is there a way to smooth this out with a tool watched with my Borescope?

How does the rifle shoot? That is not uncommon in my experience.
First trip out I discovered I was over gassed. I wasn't in my mojo that day either. So, I'm holding judgement till I try again with new adjustable gas block and clean slate brain.

Hard to tell because of the copper but there could be a burr on that leading edge underneath causing it to strip the copper (?), which should shoot out over time.

stick a patch on a rod at that spot , fill gas tube with foaming bore cleaner u using a small tube to fit inside gas tube . Let sit .

It looks to my like you could remove the gas block and select a drill bit the fits perfect and put the drill in an old drill chuck you may have laying around to hold the bit and turn it by hand to debur the hole, It looks like the barrel metal is squared at the hole and it would make the hole round again, That would be my approach to the problem take it for what it's worth?

I was always told not to introduce solvents or oils in the gas tube. Foaming bore cleaners I use leave a sticky residue if not patched out.

Clean it out with naptha or other . Every ar I use gets a shot of foaming bore cleaner ! , patch dry , lightly oil . I use military clp but any cleaner you use is going in the tube . Just blow it out .

Gas ports create a “ comet tail” as they wear
It’s common, some can get up to a inch long
They don’t effect accuracy as all highpower shooters have to deal with them and still manage to shoot high master scores and clean targets out to 600 yds
They can collect fouling and copper
More important to watch your throat and muzzle

Alcohol or acetone? I love me some foaming bore cleaner!

Alcohol, I use ethol 70 % or if available 90% . Usually available at your local pharmacy. I do not use isopropyl, ethol has a little acetone in itand evaporates faster
