Powder Prices in Local Stores

I have enough to keep me going, for along time.
Also consider the old cartridges, like the 45 Colt, the 45-70, with black powder or PB substitute. It was $23 pound and available, and cast your bullets, already have casting equipment. I have a 454 carbine, you can shoot any primer ya find just adjust the power of the load ....any small primer 454 cases... any large primer change to 45 colt cases. Then are 60 plus smokless powders that will allow you to shoot the gun at different levels of performance, plus black powder and its substitutes. Cast your own, or use any .451 /.452 pistol bullet for the 45 ACP, or resize any .458 bullet to .452 up to 405 grains... round balls and multiple ball loads, even shot shells, I use .410 hull cut down, resized, & cut down wads, with 14 gr W296, and add a couple hundred grains of shot and crimp in the. 410 Mec loader with an aluminum extension under the case, for a mini shotgun...A good survival gun, that you can actually shoot with almost any components available... the 454 Rossi 16" stainless carbine.

A local pawn shop just got in big shipment of Alliant. I was able to get 8 lbs of 26 and 5 lbs of 17 for about $41 a lb. Thankfully, With all the other powders I have I’m set for a good while.

You should of stocked up on that stuff years ago Greg. You knew this was coming.
Well in retrospect, you are probably right. The second dirty dem pres of the last three. The first one was a boon to firearms and component sales and I should have take a cue from Obummer when Biteme got elected. :(

Went to local gun store saturday. Got two can of powder. H4350 and H1000 at $45.00 a can.Been looking for a long time for H1000 for my 6.5 PRC

The local shops are $35 - $37 a lb. The problem here is there’s lots of scalpers who will buy everything they can and list it locally for $50 a lb. Those wanting more than the stores are charging can choke on it.

In the Carolinas...... Powder at decent shops is currently $35-$45 per 1 pound containers.
Primers are $80-$100 per 1000 most everywhere.

I did, on IMR 4350 Tubal 7000 and 8000 and some Norma URP and MRP :)
Ya see your buying stuff for your hunting rifles. I peddled about 500 lbs of my slow burning stuff when the black prince got re-elected for the 2nd time. As you know I don't hunt or shoot any of my hunting rifles anymore so I concentrated on buying powder that I could use for my bench rifles that's why I'm set for life with that stuff. I guess I'd be in trouble if I had to go back and try to reload for my hunting rifles.

…..and for some reason it seems like there is more supplies showing up there than down here in the middle of Ohio.
I'm in the North-western corner of the state. I haven't been in every store, but those that I have been in have some bullets and brass but no powder or primers.

Yes powder is going up 20% every month! H50 BMG was $299.99 last month ....this month $356.99!.. Inflation!.. Ridiculous, when $35 a pound is now, a fire sale!

I was in our local BiMart last night, they had Hodgdon 335 and 296 on the selves, which is the first time they have had powder in almost 2 years. $31.99 a pound with a two pound limit. The ammo shelves were also stuffed full of 9, 45, 300 blk, 223, etc… at reasonable prices and I don’t believe they had a limit.

Bought an 8lb keg of H1000 at the local supply shop. $380 out the door. 1lb bottles going for $50 each.
