Powder Prices in Local Stores

02/18/22, LGS had H1000 for $34.99, limit one pound of powder per customer. With tax, $37.09 They didn't have a good selection, maybe fifteen different types, plenty of Reloder 50. Their ammo shelf was a huge surprise. Had everything from .458 Lott to 17 Fireball. Even had some 220 Swift. I'm stocked up on primers so didn't ask about them. Bullets were in short supply.

Much of the high prices for loading components and other things are not because of increased costs to the merchant. The talk of "inflation" is enough for some to raise prices 'just because they can'. The 'short answer' is GREED. Make a mental note on who to patronize when things improve. I like to support the local guy, BUT!!

My local gun store went up to 54.99 on most the Hodgdon powders, they had Varget last week and H4350 but I passed. They also had BR4s but had them priced at 179.99 per 1k. I left emptied handed.

It's running around 36 bucks a pound at our local store. They are limiting to one per customer per day to keep people from grabbing it all. They are doing the same with ammo and primers to try and keep as low as prices as possible without hoarders grabbing it all.

There is basically none here in Charlotte. Little powder, no primers, a few bullets. For a merchant that was able to sell 100 units a week for $5 profit per unit, and now is lucky to get 10 units per month total to sell, how do you expect him to stay in business without raising prices?

Just bought 1000 Berger 243 68 grain FB match for $285. NOS in a tiny shop in NY. Grafs listed at $435. Also got 500 22 short for $40

Local store $34-36/lb for powder depending on what powder. Primers $6/100.

A question, are any of the Alliant powders the same as any of the Norma powders? If so which ones? Tks

I believe that 203-B is as close to RE15 as one can get, absent lot-to-lot variations.

Stopped at a gun show today. Most prices were insane.
But I did see on guy with h4350 for $325.00-8LB.

Silver salmon, I use to guide up in Bristol bay and go back with my sons every four years. My favorite fresh water fish.
