Just got my 22-250 Ackley from Brad at Urbanrifleman. Bore scoped it looked pretty darn good for a $269 tube. Cleaned it good and screwed it on the action.
I got the 26" savage small shank 1.080" full bull. Action is a brand new American Rifle Company Nucleus 2.0 Trigger Tech Special flat blade. KRG Bravo Chassis. Athlon Ares ETR 3-18x50 in Hawkins Precision Rings.

Headspaced off Virgin Lapua 22-250 Brass (after measuring and ensuring consistent base to neck measurements). Slight Crush Fit.........yadadada.

NO issues.

Threw together a load based off experience ( I have a Bergara 1/9 Twist 22-250).
38.3gr Staball 6.5
75gr HPBT Horn Bulk Bullets at .030" off lands.

Enjoyed fireforming in 18 degree weather (I love this stuff)

THANKS BRAD.............................GREAT BARREL.

I JUST ORDERED ANOTHER IDENTICAL BARREL 15 MINUTES AGO FROM YOU!!!

Can't wait to get full house loads worked up with 75 ELDM bullets.

Thanks again to Urbanrifleman for making affordable, shootable, tubes.

Seems like ZERO copper so far. Smooth as a babies butt. Working on cleaning, but so far only carbon on the patch after soaking in Outers Foam Cleaner (which would show blue if any copper).

TWO Largest 5 shot groups at 100yds were .730" with frozen fingers, new barrel, and random load.....i'll take it.

Two best 3 shot groups were .180" and .240"

A majority of 3 shot 100 yard groups were under .350"

I'm sitting on 5......8lb jugs of Staball. I really like that powder in the standard 22-250 with 70gr to 75 bullets, so that is what I'm going to roll with. Even if it may be a little on the slow side (velocity wise). I was getting 3250 FPS in the standard 22-250 with 75 Berger VLD's and 38.5gr in Lapua. I'll be plenty happy with 3350 to 3400 max in the Ackley at around 40gr I'm thinking. I'll work up when the weather behaves a bit more. It's 10degree this morning. Thanks for the replies! I'm pretty excited about this build.

What a great post :) Thank you so much!!!

I am trying to do good work, with the Lord's help!!!

I really do believe my Wilson barrels will shoot with the more premium cut barrels.

My 22xc likes 38.3 grains of R16 with the 75 ELDM. I have not tested R23 yet.

Get yourself some Boretech Eliminator. It beats every chemical cleaner I tested hands down and it has no smell and I think you could drink it and it not kill you.

How is the SMACK with those bullets?
Funny thing is I developed a long range coyote load for it but have never truly even hunted with it. Years ago I used a 9 twist Savage 22-250 with the Hornady 75 gr amax clocking about 3200 FPS to anchor a coyote at 629 yards with night vision. Put him down on the spot and gave a nice wallop so I’m sure the Ackley shooting a 80 gr bullet at 3410 FPS is going to have plenty of SMACK. Plus banjo string trajectory.

Nice, I bet once the bullets get all sorted out the 80-85 gr one’s really shine especially with some rl16 and a mag primer I was shooting that in a 22cm and was absolutely wicked..
