Winter Day In Tomball

I was out at my range this morning doing some load testing with the wind at my back, Brrr
The shooting bench is covered and after two, three rounders I, with my black jacket would
stand in the sun for a few minutes. Wasn't having a problem with over heating the barrel. ;)

Never reached zero until about 8:30 this AM here in central MA.
Snow overnight changing to rain tomorrow so 3-4 inches of slush to clean up here on the farm.

You may want to shoot a match there and then tell how you feel.
Butch, the place has changed, as you can see by our new Burm that we call “Mount Tomball”.

gone are the 12” tall flags on the right side, and when it rains, it actually flows out and not into the loading area.

oh, and that pee gravel has been gone for sometime.

But the one thing that did not change is the difficult conditions. As hard as it might be to believe, I think all of our improvements could have possibly made things worse.

I have enjoyed shooting at Tomball over the years, but the poles in the middle of every other bench is a real distraction. I wish they would have corrected that over the years, but evidently not.
