The Good Life

That beautiful sunrise picture In Corpus Christi I posted sure wasn’t present this week.

We are in Corpus align boring the Shaft Line in a new 110 foot 3600 HP push boat at John Bludworth Shipyard, we are blessed with drizzling rain and wind. Here is a picture taken this morning from the same vantage point.

I also included a few pics of our boring bars set up.5C801681-3567-4235-B2E1-A36BBD7A4A32.jpeg44786064-4477-43F9-BADB-7E4C070640B4.jpeg1A1C0A36-265F-481B-9267-5512A79425A0.jpeg2935D079-F334-45F6-B321-F9B3C67CB136.jpeg2935D079-F334-45F6-B321-F9B3C67CB136.jpeg

The car is my ‘67 Malibu. I bought it in 1992 out of a guys backyard, and since then have been on a quest to spend $400,000 to have a $40,000 car, LoL.

I have re-incarnated it several times. At present it has a 540 inch big block, (Dart Big M Block), Scat 4340 crank, Calles Rods, Air Flow Research CNC heads, Hyd Roller Cam, (234/244 at .050, .675 lift), Morel lifters, Mahle Pistons set at 10 to 1 compression, internally balanced, Holley HP Multiport Fuel Injection, Lemons 2 1/8 headers, BeCool 32 inch wide radiator with twin 13 inch Spal Fans, Hotchkis Suspension, Willwood Disc Brakes, HydraBoost brake booster, TCI 6x 6 speed auto with 300 stall and full lock up converter.

The Rear Eand was done by Pyle Brothers in Baytown with a Eaton TruTrac, 34 spline moser axels and 3.32 gears.

It’s a great hot rod.28802092-60B3-43C7-B6FC-C9BD3009AE21.jpeg312FFAFA-259A-4616-89D2-200C972ADF04.jpeg

Love the logo on the truck’s rear fender!

Looks good. But ya ought to hear it. BAD TO DA BONE

Jackie, I'm guessing you don't drive the Malibu a lot so tell me about the 3.32's.. In my hot rod days I never played with big blocks, did have some pretty salty small blocks in my Z28 though.. It spent a few years on the strip and needed 4.88's to finish strong at the end of a 1/4..

That's a whole bunch of bragging there. I bet you enjoyed every minute it took you to type it!!
My favorite year and model car.

The 3.32 gears work great with the 540 inch big block, which makes massive torque. A huge plus is the gear ratios in the TCI 6X 6 Speed auto. It has a 2.97 first, and the remaining gears are very close ratio.

The overdrive and lock up converter make driving on the freeway a breeze.

My Malibu is a street car. it is set up to run unleaded premium, what ever is in the pump. I shift at 6500 rpm whenI want to play around.

I want to go for a ride!

I'd bet it's 10 seconds or better if you can hook up..
That is the big “if”.
The 275/60 TA Radials are pretty much useless.
I do have a set of M&T DOT’s but it pretty much blows them away on anything but a good concrete street.
