They have a big sale going on Savage rifles, has any one bought any of these how do they shoot.

I just picked one up in 223. Trigher is junk but already replaced spring with mcarbo kit. I am taking it out monday to try out. Have 2 friends that bought them in 6.5 creedmoor. I just wanted a non expensive 223 for coyotes. Ill let you know what it does after Monday. Have a few handloads to try in it that usually work good in most other 223. If scope holds zero i plan on leaving it on for what my purpose is with it.

Website and App have been having a lot of issues. Takes forever to load.

In my experience, Cabelas has gone downhill after being acquired by Bass Pro. I got better service from both when they were independent.

I haven't checked Basspro or Cabelas lately, but I bought a Savage 30-06 from Sportsman's yesterday for $359 with a scope just to basically get the action for a build I'm starting.

I just bought my nephew a 243 Axis from Basspro. The transaction was 2 hrs. Painfully slow. I haven’t picked it up yet so no info on how the rifle shoots yet. The rifle was cheap at $300.00 with a scope hard to pass on it. I waited so long in line that I forgot to tell the kid at the counter I wanted was he youth rifle and I got a standard rifle. Now I’m buying a youth stock. I should have paid more attention to the rifle. I’m picking up the rifle on Sunday.

I have now purchased two of these Savage rifles. 243 & 6.5CM. I immediately ordered the trigger system upgrade from MCarbo. It's cheap, good quality, and works great. Both the rifles and the MCarbo trigger updates. The rifle have been remarkable accurate. I did replace the scopes but the basic Weaver scopes worked well enough for most hunting. If you buy one recheck everything. Tighten everything down as needed. I am tossing around the idea of buying another.It's hard to resist a rifle for $259.

I bought a tl3 bighorn action from northland shooters supply, and stopped by bass pro and asked what they charged to receive the action when they said 150.00 I walked away laughing, I used a shop that charged 50.00 The bass pro in so. calif sucks the ammo is locked away you have to ask them to get it for you and pass a back ground check before you can touch it. I haven't bought ammo in this god forsaking state sense 2019 when they passed the ammo back ground law, all my powder,bullets, brass, primers come way of the big brown truck.

I bought one as well…couldn’t pass up $259 rifle for a truck gun. I was planning on replacing trigger with. Rifle Basix. I am not familiar with the McCarbo spring kit. Any thoughts between the two?

Just trying out the mcarbo spring i put in at home i love it. for $20 can not be happier. Im heading out to the range in about an hour to try it out. I like light triggers that feel good. Has 2 springs in the kit. A 2.5 and a 3.5. I installed the 2.5. I have never tried a rifle basix out but have tried timney, jewel and bixnandy. This is no extravagant rifle. I would not hesitate to buy the mcarbo kit again. If i ever get another ove i will buy another kit.

I buy them for the actions. Most of my builds are on the 12FV action that you find a lot of times in the big box stores. they are the cheaper of the models, but with a little truing up, and a rebarrel, you get a great shooter. Everyone that I have built, shoots under 0.5" groups. Worst case, it doesnt shoot and you use the action for a custom build.

I just picked mine up yesterday in 25-06, got it home and completely stripped it down. I hate the bbs savage uses as a thread locker on their barrels, made things a bit difficult. Cleaned all that out, got rid of their oil, cleaned it out of the scope mount holes, put proper antiseeze where needed, put the mcarbo trigger kit in and took the weaver off for a leupold VX1 3-9. Took the trigger from 6lbs down to 2lbs.

Hopefully going to test it out today. Can't complain about the price for sure. Would do it again if I needed it. Running out of calibers that I want to try though.

Needed a gift for a family member and saw the ad in the bulletin and thought I'd give it a try. Drove 65 miles to the Bass Pro store in Little Rock, waited for 30 minutes just to get a real shock... Felt like I was 18 again trying to buy liquor with a fake ID. I'm hard of hearing but I got enough from the conversation to realize that I was not going to be able to get what I wanted for 250$. Drove back to my closet LGS, about 35mi , and picked up a nice new Savage in a 6.5 Creed, with a nice camo stock that can be shortened by removing a block leaving a real nice recoil pad, acu-trigger, 3X9 Bushnell, and hex head action screws for 450$ out the door and they threw in a box of Norma ammo. Last time I will try the Bass Pro bargain thing... John

Just shot this today. I think i found a good coyote load. Would have been better had i not pulled one shot. I hate being at a crowded range and guy next to you has a muzzle brake. Not good when trying to test loads. I think its pretty good seing how its hard to see completely well with only a 3x9 scope at 100yds on paper. So far im happy with this axis rifle.
