I'm searching for an Axis action right now to do a 280AI build.

I've seen the 25-06. Was looking hard at one today.
But for me, the 22" barrel length is a deal breaker.
Had it been 24", i'd be running patches throught it & ordering base and rings right now.

I have put together more than one, with pre-fit barrels, using the Axis reciever, switch the trigger with a Rifle Basix or one of the other trigger swaps available and you can have a very accurate and decent shooting rifle.
I also put them into a Boyd's stock.

I bought mine in 6.5 Creedmoor at Rural King, my first Bolt action. Dropped it in a MDT LSS and and added a Vortex Scope and it shot about like yours. It's sitting in the safe now waiting on a decision to rebarrel in .224 Valkyrie

My 25-06AI was built off this exact thing. It’s the one on the bottom.

Still have the stock barrel and stock lying around somewhere...

Several years ago my Uncle bought a Axis combo in 243, it was one without the accutrigger. At the time I was working on loads for my mdl 16 260 Remington. I was really surprised how accurate the Axis was even with a trigger that felt like it had taken a swim in a sand pile. It actually shot better groups with factory ammo than the 260 did with hand loads.

Very good rifles for the money IMO.
