CCI Primer packaging - annoying

Wolf had tape on their primer trays. Two swipes with a sharp knife or a box opener and wala! Just for the record. I did spill 2 trays of 100 each back when I was in my teens. Walked around in the store with them, Shifted my grip and one tray slid completely out of sleeve. Other tray only partially dumped. Found all but a few. Coke bottle deposit was 3 cents way back then if I remember correctly. CCI sleeves can be very loose on the trays to very tight. The very tight ones are the one's I hate.

amen! Was thinking - you want to be annoyed, by Federal primers in 5x larger packaging. So damn annoying.

On the other side of the coin, during the last "crisis", Graf got in a bunch of RWS SR primers in, 2500 in a container about the size of a box of .410 shells. Saves a lot of shelf space.

I'll call hodgdon on Monday morning and see if they can work that out for you gman.

Awesome to know U got my six. :) Except I heard a rumor that CCI makes CCI primers, not Hodgdon. You call Hodgdon, they'll just think yer whining. :)

That wouldn't work for this tape.

We all did dumb stuff when we were teens . Do you still need drivers ed and a 9pm curfew ? Well, adults don't need taped up primers. :)

I'm calling Hodgdon to request 1/2 oz powder bottles to avoid spillage and massive flash fires from guys who smoke while reloading.

Safety first.

No, no, no.... yer not allowed to be annoyed by that. Cuz some ppl didn't stock up, and now hafta pay more. Pipe down and be thankful ya got primers in packaging 5x the size it needs to be. :)

Let me put this in perspective. I reload handgun ammunition in probably a 500 - 1 over rifle. I will go out of my way to acquire Federal primers for a couple of reasons. I have some competition type guns (both revolvers and bottom feeders) that require them to reliably function and they make seating primers on a Dillon 550 easy. I could whine and snivel about the size of the packaging - or store them in a 20mm ammo can, which I do. I never could understand why they are in such a large tray, but it fits on my primer flipper. All is well - almost.

I'll be 100% fair here on this subject. By the looks of the picture garandman posted, it's just idiotic for them to be taped off like that.

Really.... I'm not gonna die from over-packaging.

But 99.5% of the stuff in the shooting sports (and this forums content) isn't life and death either. 98% of shooting is all about fun. As is this thread. And it should be taken in this way. I'm not calling for CCI execs ort line managers to be imporisoned. But SOME ppl gotta deliver a morality lesson about thankfulness, or life's highest priorities.

Sigh. :)

We all need to lighten up, and enjoy life.
