Bolt appears to be fine, from those photos. But pull and weight at least four and see what they weigh.

Check the accuracy of your scale. A new dime weighs 35 grains.

ok i only made 10, of the 4 i pulled, all weighed 40.3. so thats good

not sure if its of consequence..when i primed them some of the primers were difficult to get in, never had that issue before and it really stood out *shrug*
i didnt wet tumble with any media tho, would that indicate anything?

any conclusions ? i guess its either -the fact that i saturated bolt in oil or - at least one of the ten was botched, even tho i was obsessive with not messing them up or.. midway us shipped me the wrong powder? Lol

Weigh a good bullet, like a Sierra.

Looks way to high on that end to me, could be affecting it. Call RCBS and get a replacement leg. Yes a known bullet weight would be a place to start, but not a precise weight.

In all seriousness I would get scales fixed and verified, scrap all previous loaded rounds and bottle of powder in case it got mixed with another one. Start over fresh and be safe.

ok. i googled nickle weight. its 77gr so scale was correct.. it seems like powder amount likely was right.. noone thinks it was excess oil?

I would say that the operator not only oiled the bolt up well,but he also managed to get it on the cartridge and in the chamber.Good old rainwater causes enough pressure problems with target rifles fired on rainy days even when trying to keep the cartridges dry.

Go buy yourself a digital scale. Obviously you get what you pay for, but they can be purchased for under $50 and most come with a calibration weight. Then buy a new container of IMR 4451. You've likely gotten the message regarding a "dry" chamber and bore. Weigh your test charges, don't throw them with a powder measure. Measure your bullet diameters.

Unfortunately, I doubt you are going to be able to definitively figure out your mistake without trying to replicate it, which would be a bad thing - you got really lucky the first time. But by starting over, with your newly aquired knowledge and fresh components, you can get some confidence back and move forward.

there is nothing wrong wit the beam scale he is using. I compared my Hornady digital scales and they match with weight with my RCBS beam scale. And as far as new components they are not the issue. It appears to be a misweiging on his part.

I would say that modern rifles even older ones except black powder were and are pressure tested way above and beyond SAMMI cartridge pressures. A little ejector impression on the case head shouldn't concern you.

I saw the one end elevated.... but would he be that lost to use it that way? Guess so ! Kinda breeze through some posts, sorry. It's not hard to fix it. Well now we know where his mistake is.
