NY Resident got the dreaded email from Midway

We are quite used to being the minority holding our heads high in defiance within the mass of hysterical bunny hugging. No apology necessary. We really do get it. We are living it. Sadly, we had the "it will never really happen" attitude, while we elected "small bite" leaders. Many small bites later, well, here we are. It stinks. NEVER EVER TAKE THE MONEY...it is the price of freedom, and what you get is far less than what was promised, and eventually costs far more.

Yeah another Upstate New Yorker here pissed at Albany on the Safe Act, thanks to some idiots who should not have access to guns. Cuomo is making his points with the liberals for his run on the presidency with this then the rest of the country will suffer like us. To Gaboon, don't wish like that, NYC would be not missed by me but the rest of the state is beautiful, good roads, nice small towns, good people, mountains, lakes, bad government, high taxes.....but it is what it is. I have less than 10yrs to go before enjoying the state retirement system, then we sell the farm, hopefully Pennsylvania is still gun friendly then.

Come to NH no sales tax, no helmet laws, easy to get pistol permits, what else can I say love our motto "live free or die"

Exactly the State I have had my sights set on for the last few years now. Texas has been a fine state to live, but it's hot and humid as hell here in Houston and I miss the 4 seasons and big forests of the Northeast. Plus, my wife would also be within a few hours drive of her family in NYC. (ie; a happy wife is a happy life!) Hopefully all of those bordering liberal socialist states around NH will not spread their contagian to NH too fast and spoil it. At one time NH was the only red conservative state up there. The question is just how blue will it turn? :'(

New York State is one of lushist beautiful states around with the finger lakes and state parks, lake ontario etc etc but the democrat government sucks.I think it is worth fighting for at the poles this next year.

+1, Tucking tail and running is a loosing strategy! Only means they can regroup and move there efforts to another state.

Additionally in NY the LGS charges 1 cent/round and a 4.50 transfer fee
The purchase requires one to fill out the equivalent of a 4473 form .and note on the form the number of rounds, caliber, and lot number.

Yes, but they also thoughtfully limited the number of rounds you can load (Even in your "allowed" 10 rd mags) -to seven rounds, so you won't need very much ammo.

Born in PA, now in NY for 26 years. That is enough time to say "enough" to NY and "caution" to PA. I listen to the news from PA every day, read the papers, etc. I can tell you nice Pennsy folk that you are only 10 years behind NY in the slippery slide. And if you tell me that "yinz" will not stand for it (I was from western PA where real football is played) I will call you on it...you voted for O, and you continue to do it, just like NY'ers. Until you stand up in greater numbers, start to really vote for true conservatism, you will continue to lose rights. That is not a harsh condemnation, but rather a rueful observation from one who has lived thru the "City" overrunning the Rural (and we are HUGE compared to the city, but we "buy" the $ and the mindset, so we have LOST).
As for me, I was an LEO. When our left pushed for bans and we ended up with the SAFE act, I stood my ground, refused to comply, refused to enforce it, and contributed to the effort to revoke it. I am no longer LEO, and the rest remains. Now I suffer under the stupidest law and plan to leave, taking my tax dollars, earning potential, education and contributions with me. Don't have much longer to live, but plan on living it free. I'll fight from the outside.
its almost ten years later and the PA I knew then is the gone and has become the NY I knew then. Wolfe, Rachel and Fetterman...really???!!! We, yes we (I moved to PA in 2016 to care for my mother with dementia) put a demented president in the whitehouse. We have gas taxes, a democrat in the govenor seat, discourage oil and gas work, push DEI, and elected MORE democrats to our legislature. Yup. NY we are.

Now just look north and see your future. SAFE act 2...cause SAFE Act 1 wasn't good enough. Transparent disregard and scorn for the constitution with "Safe Places" spreading to include even the ADIRONDACK PARK which has fewer people than montana in it! Cuomo out and of all things, a woman that is worse in his place....a true beleiver. Covid rules STILL in place, a destroyed economy, higher taxes and thousands running to FL to get away. They are still telling people COVID is about to kill them at any moment. What was once a decent health care system (I could actually go there and see a Dr faster than getting in down here in Pittsburgh)...now a wasteland. Yup...PA is on the cusp of doing it again in 2024. What a shame.

This remains true

Now if N.Y. state and others that are going to do that same with no ammunition being sent into the state, I pray the ammunition companies follow suit and stop shipping ammunition to cities and all law enforcement agencies also within the state/s. Let's see how that goes and how fast the state/s make a rule that exempts them. And then I pray the ammunition companies say NO SHIPPING to anyone in the those states.

Don't Arizona and Texas have a "reciprocal" agreement on that pass-port thing ? After-all we have nearly identical Gun Laws . :D:D:D And virtually the same ethical ideology .

I was born in Canada, now a US citizen. You think the laws here are draconian? In Canada, you can't even take a handgun into the woods to shoot or hunt, nada! If you want to shoot it, you must get permission from the local police and keep it locked up at the gun club, NOT at your home. Just imagine that! And that assumes the local police actually gives you permission to shoot the dang thing.

Any questions as to why I no longer live in that retarded liberal enclave?

We must take great care to ensure this liberal madness does not drip down into the USA!
