Dear Donald,

In On January 14, 2013, the NY Safe Act was signed into law. A portion of this new law restricts the sale of ammunition into the state of New York after January 14, 2014 by requiring all retail ammunition sales to occur face to face.

In order to ensure all ammunition is delivered prior to the active date of the law, as of today, we unfortunately will no longer be able to ship ammunition to New York State.

This law also affects current ammunition backorders with MidwayUSA. If we are currently holding backordered ammunition that is in stock, waiting on other products to ship, we are sending the ammunition out today to ensure full compliance with the law. If your backordered ammunition is not in stock, we unfortunately have to cancel it.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

A likely prediction - they don't call it The People's Republic of Maryland for nothing. I can't believe how much more restrictive the MD firearms laws have become in the 10 years since I got fed up and relocated.

I lived in NY for awhile many years ago, too. My sympathies to both of you.

The Irony of this is the safe act has no system in place to set up the data base and is on hold till they can appropriate the 83 million dollars to do so.It sucks but thats the way it is for now.

If you click on the provided link from Midway and go to ammo sales link one of the questions are if they need to register to sell components and the answer was no..So I'm assuming this is for live ammunition and I don't know if Midway is shipping components..

At this point in time it only applies to loaded ammo. You can read about it on the AS home page. I'm so thankful that I live in Louisiana!! And, so sorry for you folks in New York!

The ideaology is like a virus,it makes you sick and it has no purpose other than the nero complex.

Sure glad i live in Pennsylvania
I'm glad I relocated back here to PA, too, but be advised that the elitest hypocrit, ex NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg, has targeted PA for passage of the Safe Act too. Stay vigalent out there, they're trying to get their foot in the door here in PA too - and about 20 other states.

The problem is that the liberals destroy the economy in there states and move and bring there ideology with them! (Colorado)

It is like Mark Levin said once, they are like locusts. Destroying one location and moving to repeat the process somewhere else. - Phil

Yep

I consider my 2nd amendment rights an important enough factor in determining where I shall live. This thread is just one more reminder why I moved out of NY in 1978 and have never looked back.

For those of you New Yorkers who are still young and have dreamed about legally carrying a pistol for self defense and/or buying any pistol or AR rifle your heart desires (like I can), I suggest you consider moving and making a job change NOW while it is still easier in your younger years to make such adjustments. Housing is also cheaper in most other places, and jobs for skilled workers can often readily be found. I also do not miss the over regulation and taxation of NY (in Texas there is no city or state taxes), nor do I miss the liberal Democrat bias. If your family won't move with you, there is always the phone or the family car or airplane tickets for visits....until they decide that YOU are in a better place and they finally decide to move where you are!

Just remember that at election Time and special attention on local and congress people elected.
I have Maffai and he's on my list as one NOT to vote for. spread the word about your locals too.
IT isn't going to stop here in New York.

Born in PA, now in NY for 26 years. That is enough time to say "enough" to NY and "caution" to PA. I listen to the news from PA every day, read the papers, etc. I can tell you nice Pennsy folk that you are only 10 years behind NY in the slippery slide. And if you tell me that "yinz" will not stand for it (I was from western PA where real football is played) I will call you on it...you voted for O, and you continue to do it, just like NY'ers. Until you stand up in greater numbers, start to really vote for true conservatism, you will continue to lose rights. That is not a harsh condemnation, but rather a rueful observation from one who has lived thru the "City" overrunning the Rural (and we are HUGE compared to the city, but we "buy" the $ and the mindset, so we have LOST).
As for me, I was an LEO. When our left pushed for bans and we ended up with the SAFE act, I stood my ground, refused to comply, refused to enforce it, and contributed to the effort to revoke it. I am no longer LEO, and the rest remains. Now I suffer under the stupidest law and plan to leave, taking my tax dollars, earning potential, education and contributions with me. Don't have much longer to live, but plan on living it free. I'll fight from the outside.
