· This rifle was built as a dedicated 600 yd. sling/prone rifle. It is working rifle that sees usage on a regular basis. However, circumstances beyond my control have made in so much more. My hope is to get as much exposure as possible to the RIFLE, so that those affected by that terrible tragedy on 9-11-01 realize that there is someone that still remembers, and cares.

“Although it my be forever obscure to me the reason I have been chosen for this task, I am truly honored and thankful for people like you that have so willingly given of their time and talents. May it bring some measure of peace to the many people that were affected by that terrible day.”

Re: Official Gun Pix 'Pride & Joy' Thread

I know they aren't quite target rifles... but I recently dug out an old project and went ahead and finished it. A serious benchrest stock for a 10/22.

Aside from the stock, all it has are some special trigger parts and an aftermarket barrel. It has shot well enough for me to be severely tempted to give it a go at a match. The paint job isn't quite done yet but otherwise it has turned out pretty well. I think I'll have it duplicated with a good walnut blank. I don't want to try shaping a grip like that again unless I'm painting it.

Have you ever built a rifle that turns into THE MONEY PIT. this one is mine. A trip to Camp Perry and the CMP store caught me purchasing a M5200/M12 H&R 22LR target rifle. Shortly after a trip to Montana I found myself at Dan Lilja'a Shop and purchased a 17cal barrel from him. (502 Remington Contour) The McMillian stock is a Anshutz copy, designed for the 10/22 but uninletted. That proved to be clincher. Turns out the trigger assy sticks way below the Stock line and needed to be added on to. Tom Merideth of TM Stocks and benchrest stocker got the job. The reciever needed to be taped for rings and a pair of very nice COntroal SK rings went atop. A good friend Craig ( Auto Body) painted the stock. I told him a wanted a 1970 Dodge Super Bee theme. I had no idea what it was going to look like when I got it back.
WOW! Lilja, H&R 5200, SK, Mcmillian, Weaver KT15.

That's Richard's model 10. It's my favorite stock since I am right handed and shoot from the other side.
