Your fav 6mm bullet out to 600-1K?

Taking a poll of sorts to see what your go to 6mm bullet is shooting out to 600 yards or so? BTW, Ive tried and had pretty good results with the 105AMAX last year in my 6mmREM shooting under 5.5" @600, going to try the 105HPBT this year.

The berger 105 hybrids are my new fav. The 115 Dtacs are also high on my list. Got 400 swampys 105s on the way, will let u know on those.

I like the 105 Hybrids in my 6mm Rem. I also have a new 6mm SLR in works for Mid Range.

I am liking the Berger 105H's also. Have shot my dasher with them out to 600 so far with great results. I may be switching 2 other rifles I have to the Hybrid as well. It seems tough to set up a rifle for the 115 class bullets when the Hybrid has about the same BC.

Cudos for the 105 Berger Hybrids as well set off the lands .020 helped accomplish a PB at the Louisiana Regional last weekend using VV N 540 @ 31.2 grains. If considering using this load all caveats apply as to working up to the load even though a mild one for my gun.

Until Berger introduced their 105 Hybrid late last year my choice would have been their 105 VLD. Outstanding accuracy with nodes from 2,800 to 3,100 fps depending on which cartridge I use. Early testing with the 105 Hybrid indicates it's as good, maybe better, but I need to shoot 'em more & I have several hundred VLD's on my shelf at present.

My 6BR Viper SS has a new barrel and is shooting hybrids around .24" @ 100. The barrel only has 50 rounds on it and I have not done any seating depth tuning. I expect to get them well under that. The 6mm Rem is about .38" average @ 3320 fps from 32". The Viper is a .237/.243 Bartlein and the 6mm Rem is a .236/.243 Brux. [br]
As Frank noted, why bother with 115 bullets when the 105 Hybrid has the same B.C. at higher velocity? Until Berger introduces a 115 Hybrid, I'll stick with these.

I am running two 6brs (my daughters and my wifes) and they are both using the smk 107 with good results. Both guns will average half moa or a little better out to 600 yards. Best five shot group so far is 1.7 inches at 600 but the average groups range around 2.4 to 3.0 inches in decent conditions. I have recently started testing the hybrid but havent had a chance to go past 300 yards so i dont have any data for 600 yards yet but the guys on here seem to really like them so that speaks loud for the hybrid.

I tried some 95VLDs back in the early 2000s, once i got the bullets seated into the lands I was seeing mid 3s @100, only thing was the bullet was hanging on for dear life inside the case, probably only .030" on the bearing surface, damn long throat in my 700.

Because the X ring @ 600 in F Class is 3" or 1/2 MOA I shoot for that accuracy in all my load development. Don't always get it but with the load mentioned above it is hanging in there between 1/4 and 1/2 MOA at two hundred.

berger 105 hunting vld. plan on switching to hybrids. the berger 87 hunting vlds did impress me at my last f-class match as they shot better than my 105 loads. but that was before the wind and mirage kicked up. shooting 6BR

I have been using 115 Dtacs extensively with superb results, and just for good measure they are cheaper than the Berger's here in the UK, but then again what isn't!
I had some 6mm Rem brass to fire form and i had 30 or so 105 gr Lapua Scenars from when I used them in the 6BR. I loaded them up with 48 gr of RL22 and shot them at 600 using the F class target, lets just say I was very pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately Lapua's are marginally cheaper than Berger's so I thought I'd try the 107 SMK, accuracy at 100 yards is amazing but I have yet to test them further out.

I've been shooting the dtac for years now. I shot them before they were pointed, now that they are they are eve better. The 105 Hybrid bc is lower then the 115 dtac. The dtac shoots fine out of my 6mm Competiton Match that has over 3500 rounds down it.

I think this is not correct, Donald. When the 105 Hybrid is pointed, the B.C. is approximately the same as are the unpointed DTAC and Hybrid. I have tested both bullets and forms in my 6mm Remington to 1000 and can be fairly confident about the outcome. That said: the DTAC is cheaper and very accurate in my 6mm. But, the Berger can be driven a little faster. My take on it is that ballistic coefficient is not sufficiently deterministic with these two bullets and accuracy and velocity spread are better discriminators. Either bullet is a good choice and I use both.

I believe the pointed DTAC is .582, could be wrong, but could be right.

I usually use G7 for long range bullets. Use of a single G1 B.C. is specious because it is velocity dependent. The unpointed 105 Hybrid is .547. Bryan says that pointing is worth 7% on small calibers, so that would produce .585. When Bryan tested the unpointed DTAC 115, it produced a G7 B.C. of .276. The unpointed 105 Hybrid is .278. The correct comparison is pointed to pointed or unpointed to unpointed. When compared equally, the two are within the third decimal place of each other. I have not seen that little difference to provide a practical advantage. Either one is a good choice and comes down to which will perform better in a given rifle.
