What you’re seeing is the wood. Multiple coats of dye (of varying shades and colors) with sanding in between each coat brings out the natural figure.Once again great job Bro. So could a fiddle-back maple look be duplicated with that type of dying the wood ?

Yes sir, existing finish needs to be stripped 1st. I'm using Colortone dyes from Stewmac luthier supply.Once again great job Bro. So could a fiddle-back maple look be duplicated with that type of dying the wood ?
I told Jim after he sees this 1 in the sun all the rest of the stocks I've done for him will look like a preschooler did em.Oh my! That’s gotta be my favorite. I would LOVE to see that in a blue!!
