Wolves

Not in Wyoming. The Wyoming Game & Fish statutes provide that it is illegal to own or import a wolf or wolf hybrid.
True, not All 50 States allow Hybrids,
Including Alaska -which I figure they don't want pets intermingling with the wildlife
---
Nevada, you can own a Giraffe, a Bear, Mtn Lion, anything but a Tiger or Lion
(Used to even be able to own a Lion there, there were no laws restricting anything,
until someones Lion got loose - (Whoops)
California - Hybrids are considered as a dog , no accounts of any attacks, so they haven't been targeted
---
New England still considers themself a free country though
you can buy a pet bear there

I know a guy here in Oregon who accidentally trapped a wolf, probably 30 years ago in Oregon. That was not the only incident either.
This led folks to believe that there were possibly individuals or even agencies who were trying to introduce wolves back then.
And of course, guys like you who had anything to do with Wolf hybrids were suspect.
It is still a widely held belief that the game commission was secretly planting wolves long before any of the official wolves became known. Jd

Just one? How's about we ship you a couple hundred breeding pairs from here in Idaho?
We have quite a few wolves in California now, Fish and game just had to kill a whole pack up in Northern Ca. a couple of months ago because they exhausted all efforts to keep them from kill people livestock. The state and Federal government spent a lot of money not to mention what the ranchers had to pay. There are breeding packs all up and down the state. They are recking havoc on the elk, deer and antelope. 2 years ago I saw a herd of about 50 antelope over 175 miles from their nearest home range. There was just one tracked a couple of weeks ago in the city limits of Truckee Ca. also. A couple of years ago they tracked one that came down from Oregon and it made it all the way down to the southern coast in San Louis Obispo County. There are breeding packs just north of LA by the Grapevine on highway 5.

That happened in Ca. People were reporting them for years and the Fish and Wildlife were playing dumb knowing they were plated here. They waited until they got photo proof of the first documented pup born in the wild here before they finally admitted they were here. And then over time it started leaking out that they planted packs in more than just one or two places in the state.

Wife just showed me this on the Facebook. Don't know if these are Oregon wolves heading south or Kali wolves heading north. The migratory Muley herd is pretty thick in that area right now. Cows aren't loose in the hills yet, but will be in a few months. jd
