Wolves

The sale of fishing licenses has also taken a big hit. Here in PA, if the legislature doesn't approve an increase in cost for fishing licenses, the PFBC Board may reduce spending by $2 million, which would involve closing two warm water hatcheries and one trout hatchery. Having to take that step would further reduce the number of licenses sold due to the significant number of fish that would no longer be stocked in creeks and lakes.
I remember reading fly fishing mags and dream of those limestone creek browns! Would be a shame to effect a hatchery that supports such a fishery.

Since we have the largest wolf population in the lower 48, which has devastated the Moose herd, killed domestic animals, and nearly eliminated deer in the wolf range of my state, one saying that has become popular is
"Shoot - Dig - Shut up".

Sometimes I feel the state game commissions have money in the equation. Imagine in states like Pa where there are lots of cars and plenty of deer. Imagine what a car insurance company would pay legislators and game commissions to see there are low numbers of deer. Save them millions on collision repairs. Matt
I think we have that going on here. Its kinda funny how we got cwd in Wisconsin by the biggest city in our state. Same thing in Illinois but they found cwd in Rockford.

yep..........;)

Thanks for posting that photo, ... that may help some to realize just how big wolves are. If it was held upright you would see that it's as big as the person holding it. Yet some people here still think that going unarmed while out in our mountains is just fine, ... their 50-75lb lab will protect them.

That is not a big one at all. This is a good one, but still not monstrous. These things are what nightmares are made of.

Sorry, I thought we were posting random pictures of animals that had no relevance to the topic. Now I see that you were attempting to make a point about an animal in Idaho that you have absolutely no clue about....from your bike path in California.

Cluck as I said I abhor the Government intrusion and the release of wolves. Period. If there is any doubt, believe me when I say I saw and met IDFW enroute to trapping wolves this November. They have to be doing that for a reason. It's to try an undue at least a part of a mistake. I think you just have a thin hide. As I posted a few pages back there is no drop off in Elk harvest in the area I quoted and showed the link for real data on. Despite what everyone is saying. Just calling for objectivity and reason. The picture is mine, not some one else's and it illustrates how deceptive a picture can be without context and perspective.

You got pretty ass hurt about the pictures I posted to be calling someone else thin skinned. Multiple posts refuting your claims of harvest and population yet you have no answer for it.

Great attempt in trying to minimize the size of these animals with your picture. I'm pretty sure you aren't fooling anyone on here by claiming the lack of context in the two are equal.

Maybe the elk area you posted has no wolves. I can guarantee they are killing them. Must talk to the outfitters and hunters in some of these areas and they will tell you. In some states and areas they really hurt the deer and elk numbers. Matt
