Wind Reading Clinic and Match at Elk River Sportsman's Club, Minnesota

This is the right idea ,teaching is a great way to cultivate a club ,we are doing the same with positive results. Stay with it.

Scott,

Noted, memorized, inscribed, embedded, & drooled. Plans made!!

I wanna be the Guinea Pig.....

Thanks again for putting this on....

Sure would be nice to have this clinic two weeks earlier, or two weeks later, not in the midst of turkey season. If I kill my bird early, I'll be there to help out. I can pull targets, or something.

Al,
They sell tender turkeys at the grocery store. Why would you want to shoot a big old tom for? Soup? ;D
Scott

I may come over with a fresh bird in hand, and Matt's wife can cook that, as well.

THEN, everyone will know what good turkey is... ;)

We have F class every monday night at 6:00. There will be a couple matches this year as far as I know. Check mrra.org or go the website.

Does ER hold any matches these days? Last I heard, they bagged the matches on the 600 yd range.

John,
ERSC expanded to pit, moved target carriers, and rebuilt the KD berm. The club had a regional OTC match last year and will have the MN midrange championships this year. There was a trail of tears leaving ERSC from guys who were great shooters but couldn't pay enough attention to place their first shot on target. With the location of the range, it is required that the first shot, and every shot after that hit the target with a known impact. No more walking shots in, or not paying attention to zeroes. Unfortunately, the few bad apples spoiled it for the rest of us who apid attention. The Tuesday OTC league has struggled, but Monday F-class has about 40 shooters each night. About half of those compete beyond the league. Over the 5 years of F-class, about 200 shooter have learned the sport. Some drift away, others have the bug bad.

Rod and all you other shooters,
Every target was freshly centered last Saturday. Water lines to the firing lines and the pits will be turned on and flushed tomorrow. The sprinklers will be kept off until you leave Sunday afternoon.... It happened a few years ago during a match!

Lunch on Saturday will be burgers or hot dogs after the clinic before the team match.
Give me a call when you get into town, I will do my best to help you out with the details. 763-286-1935

Hey Scott,
Do you still have a spot for a lowly sling shooter? I'm planning on making the drive up if you do....

Thanks,
Erik

Erik,
No such thing as a lowly sling shooter... That is how most of us got started, and I will return eventually. I do enjoy SB, just don't do it enough.
See you Saturday!
Scott
