Winchester Model 70 Made in 1983

I have a M70A (A=cheaper version with a "blind" magazine -- no floorplate -- and no plastic cap on the fore-end ... I actually prefer the "A" model) in 270 Win that I bought new in 1981. Mine is push-feed and she's a shooter!

That’s a Model 70 Featherweight. I bought a M70 Featherweight in .280 Remington in 1985. It has been a favorite ever since. I absolutely do not need it but would probably buy it.
Supposedly, uncommon ( but not "rare" ) in a Featherweight - not many were produced in .223. Great little rifles. Figuring out how to shoot mine for accuracy took some doing. Letting the forend ride on the front rest/bag with only my right hand/grip controlling the rifle produced 1-2" groups ( at 100 ) with quality handloaded ammo.
Read an article by John Barsness where he recommended controlling the forend with the left hand. Instantly dropped groups into the 1/2"-ish range. Love mine.

I took the Redfield 2-7x off the M70 and put it on a Marlin 336. Instead of a glossy Leupold, I installed a Mueller 4.5-14x on the M70 for now. I also installed a new trigger spring which took the pull from over 4# to just under 2#. Now I just need to shoot it and see what it will do.
