When to anneal BRX

I am new to the BRX game and to fire forming. Does the fire forming harden the brass? Do I need to anneal sooner than I did with the straight BR? Any help always appreciated.

I anneal after 3 to 4 firings period. It may help to do it sooner but I dont shoot that good.

Fire forming probably hardens the brass some. I read a reply here from a guy who anneals EVERY load.

At first I thought he was nuts.... but I'm thinking of going that route. I can feel the bullet seating tension variations slightly on my press.

And when I annealed 10 pieces last night, then primed and charged them.... I seated bullets that felt like they had MUCH BETTER neck tension consistency.

I sure can't wait for another 448 days, 1 hour, 26 minutes and 35 seconds. I can tell them to take this job and shove it and I will have all the time in the world for loading bullets!! ;)

I'm glad you made it out the other end of the pipe Waska... I also notice seating differences after a few fireings so I do it every other!

As long as you don't over anneal, it won't hurt anything. Whether it will help is unclear. Some folks anneal every firing, others don't do it at all. I suspect that if your dies are a very close fit and you only push the shoulder back about .0005, you won't need to anneal very often. I will agree that the seating "feel" is always smoother after annealing.

YMMV,
Rick

Waskswood, sounds like you are retiring and if that is true, congratstulations to you and your family. You will have plenty of time to anneal then.I bought a ballistics edge and love it.It is hard to keep up with it.
