That’s fantastic Dave!…congrats!…Working with tuner the last two trips to the range. Very consistent and pretty tight at setting 162. Three consecutive 50 yard groups.

Dave.
Sorry but those are single shots. Those are nice groups for 100
I believe he used the single bullet holes for aiming points to shoot the groups above them.Sorry but those are single shots.
I’d have to dig up all the receipts but if you figure the action, barrel, trigger, stock, rings and scope plus the chamber job it’s right around 5K, probably a bit less. Still not cheap but I invest in only the highest quality parts and gun smithing.I would be really impressed if it was a $500 rifle, But what? $10,000? I would expect it.
The reason I built my rimfire originally was to see if there really was a big difference between rf and cf. So far as a smithing point of view. Aside from a couple extra steps you need to take because of the lead bullet Its not much different.I have an Alex Wheeler built 6BRA that I love. I never knew Alex built rimfires. I always thought that was a specialty outside of centerfires. I guess when your good you're good! I shoot a Vudoo 360 repeater in ARA bench rest and have been thinking of going to a single shot to up my game a bit. Probably a 2500 with a Muller barrel
I know this is an older post but it”s well presented and informative. I like reading back through the benchrest posts and trying to learn the craft. I am working my way towards a 2500x purpose built gun in the near future.
If any of you know of a related post or source of information please point me in the right direction .
Thanks,
Rick
Great shooting Dave! Another TAC driver from Alex! That rifle would never be for sale, period. Pretty amazing for a .22RF, to say the least.Working with tuner the last two trips to the range. Very consistent and pretty tight at setting 162. Three consecutive 50 yard groups.
