What's your fun gun?

So, besides your comp guns, what do you enjoy shooting just for the fun of it? You know, when you just want to relax, what do you reach for?

Here lately I have really enjoyed my little Ruger 10/22 with a red dot. My girlfriend just shot my FTR 308 the other day and now she wants a weekend toy. She put her first four shots at three hundred in a 2" group. First time she has ever shot a 308. She doesnt know it but I have a 6br in the works for her.

My little Ruger goes with me to the range each time I go. Just plain fun with the red dot!

Just for fun? My Savage MkII BSEV. 22LR and accurate beyond belief. Cut weeds in half, kick a can along, everything I did as a kid, only that was a Winchester 69a. (Still have it with a Weaver B4 scope)

Bronc,
My fun gun is one of my comp guns... a Don McCoy SECNAV .308 M1 Garand. loading light bullets lets me shoot all day long. If no rifle shooting, my Pardini free pistol will always humble me!
Cheers,
Doc

My 8Ib. Mauser 98 in 9.3x62. Kicks like a mule and smacks steel gongs like nothing else! Makes my match triggers seem even better than they were the last time I pulled them.

My MKII Ruger .22 lr pistol that has a couple little tricks in it and especially my hi-standard supermatic citation with a hamden barrel that I crowned,it shoots marvelous. In fact they both shoot fantastic!

My Ruger MkIII Lite 22LR. Have a cheap reflex sight on it. Lots of fun shooting steel plates 10 to 20 yds.

I can honestly say I have never shot a gun and not had fun doing it. I still get excited scoring a chipmunk with my 40 year old Benjaman pellet gun.

my 1st 45 1911 was in army in1953, shot ipsc for years, love to take my 45 with H&G 200gr loaded to about 850 and go chase the gongs, swingers etc.

The Ruger Mini-14 I had accurized, bedded and a trigger worked and equipped with a M1A style flash hider and front sight. I replaced the rear sight with a quality peep sight making it a lot like its big brother. Fun gun to shoot and will do less than an inch at 100 yds which was a huge improvement over stock.

My fun gun is a CZ 453, .22LR. I like to let my grandsons compete w/ each other with it. It is very accurate for a sporter and easy to shoot. James

I think alot of people had either a 69 a or them God foresaken 67s to shoot as a kid. I know there was a bunch of them in our household. My brother and I both learned to shoot with a 67 and a ruger bearcat. I still have pops bearcat in my possession and carry it all the time.

i got a 67 junior on my 5th bd and still have it, my dad had me learn to shoot 22 fired cases sitting on top of a tall grass stem. purchased a 69a with my first summer job money at King hardware in Atlanta the first one they got in after WWII still have it.

Sounds like the fun gun idea takes a lot of us back a few years! 22's are probably what most of uslearned on. For me it was a Marlin 36c or was it a 39? Dad still has it put up. The ruger Mark II has a forever spot in my arsenal for the same reasons

To add to my fun gun list, Santa Clause brought to me a Marlin 25 when I was 10. I has killed a couple of pick up truck loads of small game and vermin. I smile every time I pull trigger on it as well. Between that and the bearcat, I can not even say how many rounds have went down range,. I know a case of 15,000 remington Krumble balls did not last very long in my youth. :)

My fun gun is of all things a Remington Nylon 66, mine is quite accurate, It was the first gun I bought some 49 years ago. I dug it out of the back of the safe a few years ago and shoot it almost everyday now. I think I paid less for it than a brick of 22 ammo costs today. So light you almost forget you're carrying it.

Picked up a 10/22 6 months ago. Now, I'm still wondering why I waited so damn long! The trigger work was an easy do it yourself; need to have the barrel threaded for noise suppression add on and I think this will come as close as possible for the perfect anytime shooter. Accurate, great fit and just plain great fun.
