What's the next greatest rifle chambering?

Personally, I think the next level is going to be 277 Fury or similar. The cases get up to 80k for pressure. To me, that sounds like progress. It might not be 277 Fury, but it will be a similar brass/metal case, IMO.

Doesn't that grab the interest of BR/PRS shooters?

Im sure Hornady has another " this is it" cartridge in the pipeline.
A "Blown Out", cartridge with, a 35 Degree Shoulder, based on the 6.5 X 55 Sweede, would Be,. NICE !
Unfortunately, that's real close to, the 6.5 PRC for,. performance.
It'll Be, REAL Hard, to "Top", the 6.5 Creedmoor and,. 6.5 PRC !
Hornady HAS, a Stable of,.. Winners !
My Son shoots, a 7 PRC, my 23 y/o grandson, a 6.5 PRC and, I Have,. a 6.5 Creed ! ( yup, All are, 1/2 MOA Shooters )
My 14 y/o grandson, is "stuck" with, my old, .243 Win and .270 WSM, Tikka,.. "Antiques" !

Has anyone said 30 Creedmoor yet?

They don't really need to, and here's why...what Hornady did with Creedmoor was no different than Ackley had been doing for years, although Ackley often used a 40 degree shoulder. Hornady just kept a 30 degree shoulder in the Creedmoor, so if you think about it. 308 already had a 30 EDIT: 20 degree shoulder. You can neck up/down if you like, and many do...but at the end of the day the 308 is good as it is, it doesn't need too much improvement. If you were to shorten the case and make special bullets that were longer, it could make sense to modify a 30 cal., but it doesn't seem like very big gains.

EDIT: I should add that Fuj pointed out my poor memory, the 308 has a 20 degree shoulder...

Nomad 88 "What other cartridge can you run that ...." A 6 Grendel Its the SAME THING and it has been available for many years. That was kinda the point of this thread. A 260 Remington and a 6.5 lapua can and do all that the Creedmoor can. But the Creedmoor has it in a package that one swipe of a credit card and you are on your way to long range stardom. There is nothing new under the sun. The new SIG rifle with the steel base so up don't have primer problems at excessive pressure, that was dreamed up many years ago by long range elk shooters. Someone is going to have to do some real thinking if they actually come up with anything better than what's here now. The Creedmoor is a good package, and it was pitched better than a political candidate. What I wanted to know when i asked this question is what is next, that is not hype but groundbreaking head and shoulders above all the rest????
