What's everyone shooting this year for deer?

I'm using my 30-06 AI with hornady 150 sst bullets.on whitetail!

I know what you shoot Vince and I know how well you use that weapon. I am quite sure that if the deer were as aware of you as I am, they would all flee your lease in terror! LOL!!!

My grounds are off limits to center fires so a Parker Buckbuster 175lb during the rut. Gun season will see the .45 smokeless muzzleloader shooting from the stands and a Benelli 20ga M2 slug gun for the drives.

I'll be packing a 260 AI using Palma brass shooting 140 vld's @ 3050 fps

My backup rifle for my buddies and whoever else that may have a gun/scope problem is a Remington 5R shooting 208 Amax @ 2860 fps

I love shooting past 1300 with a Win Mag and 230 Hybrids but honestly that 260 AI hits the steel like a champ (power wise) side by side with a Win Mag. Either way the Mulies are in trouble.

I used my 300 Ultra with 180Gr. sciracco this year and nailed a nice muley that happened to field dress at 200lbs. :D It has been a long time since I have had good venison! a real treat now for sure. :)

My old XP in 6.5x 47 (222 rem mag nkd up), Daughter is taking the SBE slug gun. Son is taking the XP in 6.5 IHMSA.

I can't seem to draw a tag, the last couple years. Guess I'll have to stick with .22 shorts.

Two seasons ago I nailed a nice buck that just barely weighed over 300 pounds (307 pounds). Old boy for sure in his decline.

Smokless muzzleloader from Ashland Gun Innovations, shoots in the .1s with a 300g Parker @ 2850.

Anxiously awaiting the season to start.

270 built on a Kar 98 action /Shilen barrel/ Hi-Tech Stock/Timney Trigger/ Burris Electro-Dot scope OR a 300WSM built on a commercial 98 action/Pac-Nor Fluted #4 barrel/Jard Trigger/ Composite stock/ Weaver Illuminated Super Slam. Both are very accurate.

My season is just over a week away, cant wait!!

2 rifles making the trip to northern NV with me:

1- Rem700 chambered in 7saum, 26" Rock 1/8.75 twist, USO ER-25, McRee chassis. 180 Hunting VLDs going 2915fps with H1000

2- Rem700, 6.5creedmoor, 16" 1/8twist rock barrel, USO 1.8-10, Elite iron suppressor. 129sst factory ammo.

Have you ever tried the 105 Berger VLDs or A Max in your 6mm?
Unless you have an 8 twist it will not work. Might get away with a 9 but I doubt it. Matt
I haven't had stability issues with mine that has a 1-9" twist.

I haven't decided what I'll shoot this year, yet. I normally drag out my favorite 280 AI. This time I might try a big boy 7 RUM that I got stuck with about 5 years ago. The customer never paid and can't be reached any longer, evidently. It should be great for the beanfield blind. It's a nice rifle...trued up 700 with a Bartlien #4. It's fixing to get a brake and a BDL stock, along with a little load development. If I like it, I may keep it, but the older I get, the smaller my guns have gotten. It may be for sale soon, too.--Mike
