What’s all the fuss about seating with an arbor press?

I found that using my 21st century arbor press with pressure guage, and wilson seating dies, I not only use it to keep track of my bullet seating while getting ready for a match, BUT, I also used it to arrive at the best AMP setting for annealing my brass in order to achieve the most CONSISTANT pressures while seating bullets! Just started at a lower setting on the annealer, then seated 5 bullets, recording the pressure spread, then bump the annealer up 1 step & repeat untill the pressures while seating the bullets got more consistant, Just made sense in MY head & seemed to work great for me

What the total seating pressure spread that yeilds best vertical spread for longrange that you have found to date.

Hadn't seen that Hood press before, pricy, but, interesting.

It has much less leverage than a standard press, allowing you to feel how the bullet seats better, if you dont have a force pack on it. Also, its pretty nice to do seating depth test at the range with an arbor press. Seat everything long, adjust die, shoot. If you find a good node, seat everything else to that, no bullets to pull.

Don't adjust die, use a stack washer and remove said washer when you get to the range.

That's an excellent method for the standard in line dies, but the micrometer top dies make it super easy to just dial it down where you want in incremental steps.
