What rifle ??

Honestly never been around their rimfires. Haven’t been impressed by their centerfires I was around
They are like anything else they have good and bad. I have a centerfire thats a real shooter but have also been thru a couple not at that level. Ill give one of their rimfires a try just because they are cheap enough and i like the company

Where can you purchase a CZ 457 MTR Varmint ?
Got my MTR 'used'. 3/10rd magazines, Magpul bipod, '419' 30moa rail too. Shoots great.
With centerfire primers @ 20-30 cents apiece l can shoot my MTR 2 or 3 times for the
SAME price.

I shoot my Tikka T1X every range outing. I know and completely understand the difference in cost.
I did see an on line vendor that has Bergara BMR rifles in stock at a decent price. Mt.Boy could this be an alternative?

I got mine used as well. Seems to shoot good but the jury is still out. I have yet to encounter the perfect rimfire day to go out and test a bunch of different types of ammo. I've got Fiocchi 300, Lapua Center X, SK rifle match, SK standard plus, Ely Target and CCI SV to try. Thought to day might be the day but as I look out the window, the branches are moving on the trees. I'll wait for one of those dead calm days.

That’s what I had to do. Found a nice used Varmint mtr. Should be here soon

Why not a christensen? They are available
My Christensen Arms Ranger has shown promise but my CZ 457 is still more accurate. I may get better accuracy with something other than SK Match however. If you want competitive accuracy you need to use Match Grade Ammunition. Both rifles have Muller scopes, no bedding done. The CZ has a Yodave trigger spring and sear engagement adjusted. and is sub 1# and the CA is right at 2#'s.

Merlin, sadly that was the last of a lot of RWS R-50 that came together with a consistent condition condition at our RF-BR 100 Monthly Match. I penciled in the aim point on the target . After 4 shots were in the same hole I was scared to go for 5 but held the same spot and God smiled on me. Day in and day out in average conditions at 50 yards on the IBS BR 50 target I score in the mid 230's with X counts of 10 to 15. In harsh conditions my less than great wind reading ability will lower that score. I have yet to clean the target but did manage one 144 but don't remember the X count. All my shooting with this rifle has been with various lots of the RWS R50. The stock CA Ranger is for use in only the Factory Rifle Class. I haven't shot in an ARA Match or even on an ARA Factory Target but am thinking of doing it. I also plan to try that rifle with Lapua and Eley ammunition to see if it is better than the SK Match. I am having trouble getting any match amo besides 10X lately.

CZ 452 if you can find one, even used it's proven winner. Reliable mags, Yo-Dave trigger will get you going for next to nothing cost. While every rifle is unique, CZ's have a long track record of being excellent shooters.

My Anschutz 1416HB (64 action, heavy barrel, beaver tail forearm) shot well, but the ejection was abysmal for such a fine rifle otherwise. It was so terrible at this basic function that it turned me off on the rifle. Dropping spent rounds into the breech or barely dribbling them clear of the action even when the bolt was worked with speed was absolutely ridiculous to experience.

I have read this is not uncommon on Anschutz 64-actioned rifles.

I wanted others to know that not all $1500 rifles are perfect either, even from acclaimed makers.

I have a rare unicorn CZ455 with the fluted varmint barrel and a single set trigger (didn’t return this for recall, as mine was safe when bump tested). It is a real shooter. Many Cz455’s are good shooters this way, but some are real dogs. The CZ precision trainer is a great package to start with. I have heard there is better overall average accuracy from the CZ457 than the 455.

I also noticed that many manufacturers stopped making products for 455’s, but everyone makes something for the 457.

I do know that all CZ’s load, eject, and fire reliably from their factory magazines, but the same can’t be said about Bergara b14’s with their magazine issues when used with popular aftermarket stocks.

I have heard excellent reviews of the Tikka T1X’s, but don’t have any first hand knowledge of them.

Don't know what magazine issues you are referring to with the Bergara B14R.

I have one with well over 15,000 rds without issue. I am also aware of 4 others that shoot at my club that don't have issues either. Three of these other rifles are in factory stocks and one is in a chassis.

My rifle will feed empty fired cases from the magazine 100% without fail, can't speak for the other rifles as I have not tried empty feed in them.

Now if you are referring to those in chassis or non factory stocks, then that is no fault of Bergara, rather the aftermarket chassis or stock maker.

JMHO

I think you may very well be right, that the aftermarket stocks people use on these are the cause of more problems with the magazines. I corrected my original statement to clarify this. Thank You.
