What rifle ??

I agree that you should think about what competitions you might want to join before buying a good rifle. I got a CZ 457 as I thought I might do ARA Factory eventually, and also a Suhl 150 to see how far I could push my limits. So far I've been happy with my choices and enjoying moving down the learning curve of br shooting.

I just put away my T1X. I rescoped it yesterday and wanted to sight it in at 50 yards. Every time I shoot that rifle I am again impressed at the accuracy - and I don’t even shoot the expensive imported ammo.

A while back, we had some visiting ladies, friends of my wife, who wanted to shoot, so I brought out the T1X and set it on the bags. One of the ladies really liked shooting it (50 yards) and she shot up all of the bullseyes on the target. Rather than change the target, I suggested that she just shoot a hole in the open white area and then shoot at the bullet hole. She was shooting holes in the holes and having a ball. We were using CCI Blazer ammo at the time. Sometimes I wonder just how good that rifle is capable of shooting if I spent money on the match ammo.

I am very happy with my cz mtr. I have shot against a few bmr in the past few weeks. Trust I have no regrets buying my cz!!
I’ve seen a couple of them show up at ARA Factory matches and they performed poorly. Same for the Christianson Rangers. It was the same with Tikka T1X’s. I used to see a few of them, but they disappeared. Although at the last match I attended the only 2500 was shot by a Tikka on a very windy day. It was still low on the list.

What tweaking have you done to this if u don’t mind me asking
At that point, it had a Jewell trigger @6oz, steel pic rail and Sightron 8-32x, shooting SK, off a Harris bipod and rear bag. Action screws @50 in/lbs.

Since then I’ve added a pic rail to the forend that takes an Atlas bipod or a 3” bag rider. I put an ATS tuner on it which helped tighten groups. Just recently I acquired a PQP rear mechanical rest and oh boy! with a front rest the tracking is perfect. Perfect. And I’m only shooting Lapua Pistol King now.

my first range trip with a new CZ457 Varmint MTR was yesterday. It is scary accurate at 50 yards. 15 shots of SK Long Range went into about 1 1/4" at 100. Quite a breezy day and have yet to really look into what it likes for ammo.

Thinking hard of getting into some rimfire shooting. Looking for a good quality gun that I could shoot at the range and could possibly be able to do ok in like a factory class match for fun. Don’t want to spend a fortune but don’t want junk either. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.
CZ 457 MTR Varmint
my likes center X and sk HV
