What happenned to Optics Planet?

I think it’s just a sales desk with no warehouse of their own.
Yeah it used to be a good place to buy stuff. I don't know if someone bought them or what, but now they are like the temu/AliExpress of the shooting sports. They list mass quantities of items and then when someone purchases it, it's like they have some sort of software that has to go find a distributor with that item. Iive been avoiding them since like 2019

I quit OP decades ago over that behavior. You got lucky, just about no one else has had the good experiences you had.

Word of warning they own and run other online sales companies. Ecentria is the corp umbrella that OP and others are under. Campsaver is another one.

Pavel Shvartsman is the guy that started it all.

Check out the fancy headshots and tell me if you want to give them any of your $$$

In 1 word I'd say WOKE...

They’ve been known to do this for a long time. They are a legit company though, so as long as you don’t need it quickly or care then I’ve still ordered from them. They have always kept me up to date and refunded my money if they couldn’t deliver or I wanted to cancel.

But for the most part, I can usually find the same products for the same price or cheaper from small mom and pop shops, especially when you factor in the tax

I stopped in a shop like that in Kalispell, MT yesterday(Machine Gun Montana).
How wonderful it would be to live somewhere where they have a owner and staff like that place, plus a great inventory of reloading supplies, guns, and the biggest assortment of NF scopes I have ever seen.

Digging up an old thread. I placed an order with them a little earlier today. Prior to placing the order I went on their online chat and was told they had two of the item I wanted in stock. I was told it could take up to three business days to process the order and a few more days after to ship it. I was OK with that, hopefully I don't have any issues. The good news is the credit card company has my back.

They don’t actually charge your card until they are ready to ship something, in my experience with them.

So, you aren’t out the money while waiting, but you might feel at risk about shopping the product. I say feel at risk, because it’s easy enough to cancel the order, that’s an onscreen option.

Take Badger Ordinance steel accessories or DBM systems for example, as I suspect others want this stuff as badly as I do, yes, for three minutes the happy thought is “how’d everyone else overlook OP, but not me”, well, they didn’t, but upside is we aren’t finding anything that is scarce like it, anywhere else, either, and they are likely high on the list if it’s ever made again.

UPDATE:
Update on Your OpticsPlanet Order

Good news! We wanted to let you know that the item below is preparing to be shipped. Keep an eye out for an email with your tracking information once it ships!

I very recently ordered some fairly expensive items from Optics Planet and DVOR (their discount subsidiary). Items were listed as in stock and they were shipped fast and as advertised. Never had a problem with them and if you call and ask for a better price they will often offer a pretty good discount.

120 days ago ordered three (listed as in stock) trigger parts for 2011 type pistol. They dinged my credit card right away and two weeks later sent two of the three parts with a invoice included for the full amount and showing three parts shipped. Call customer service and sent them pictures showing shipping container in perfect condition. Ended up filing a dispute and was refunded the money for the one part missing. Never doing business with OP again.

"I ordered a 1911T .22 conversion kit on 13 March. It was packed on 17 March and is in transit. Shipping was free and the item was the cheapest I could find. It's in the USPS hands now."
The kit arrived today, 24 March. It took 11 days from order to receiving. Midway is much faster, but I was in no hurry.
